Born Seattle, WA but grew up on Grandparents (Smathers) farm in Leavenworth County, KS after Father's death from Korean War. I now live in Southern CA, like 27.9 million other people. Enjoy the weather, but not the Traffic! Joined Find-A-Grave while looking for family members or friends and to do my part for Genealogy. Enjoy Historical things and the people whom have made them possible. And at the End, "Regardless of what U accomplish in Life the End results are still the same".|

Well harvest season is about over. We only have a few acres of corn left to do. Hubby wants to pick some ear corn for our cows so that is all he has left to do. Soybeans are all harvested and in the bin or taken to the elevator. We have all of our grain bins full and actually ran out of room so had to take several thousand bushels of corn & soybeans on to the elevators. Very good yeilds this year. Corn yielded about 200 bushels per acre and soybeans around 60 bushels per acre! It's starting to get cold here especially at night. Already had frost in our area and the leaves on the trees are falling off. Rained last night so not much going on today. I did get a large field of corn stalks disked the past two days but more still to do.
Yes, we hope to re-elect our county commissions and hope they can stop the transmission line from going though even though the company building it has filed a lawsuit against our county & our commissioners along with one other county in northeast Missouri. At first this company promissed money (a bribe is sounded like to me) to the county school system now they are blackmailing our county commissioners by suing them!!! Don't know how this is all going to turn out but still hope it is stopped. More later,
Beautiful photo - Thank-you so very much for going that "exta" mile to get the photo for me.....
