James S Courtney
I transferred him to you. Glad to be able to do it. I walked and photographed all the stones in the whole cemetery. There are no other stones available for the other Courtney's listed in Ketchem. I see that you added one person, with the other added by someone else. It is a very old cemetery and in poor shape, but it does have a fence around it to keep the cows out. Sadly, its been vandalized in the past.

Trusting Catsaver.
Hey, Nancy!
When gravers "adamantly" advise anything, I invite them to read my bio. (lol). You I trust, (all others pay cash). The entries I submit may be from cemetery records and erroneous. Would prefer to use the headstone info, likely also erroneous! What can we do but wait for a family member to come along to provide erroneous information. Let's just get them buried. Oh, happy day!

RE: William Whitaker request
Jesse Whitaker is Wiliam's son. He died young from a fall off a ladder.

William was married for the third time when he died in the Dinuba area.

His brother Horace was the first sibling to head to California from Connecticut. Another sibling, Edward, carried the surrender flag from General Lee to end the Civil War.

If it is convenient for you, a photo would be great.
Thank you!

Thank you so much for your quick response to my photo request. I'm amazed to have the photos of my grandparents headstone within 24 hours of requesting it. What a great volunteer organization you belong to!

Thanks for your work on this one. It's dot's entry and as he was a resident of Sanger, maybe he's out there. Westrick is my wife's family but this is not her direct line. Thanks again.

RE: Earl James Wallace
Thanks Nancy! No--I had to find out his date of death from BMP. They couldn't provide me any more information. I thought it strange, as well, that he wasn't buried near his wife (Maybell or Mabel Wallace) who died at least 6 years before he did. Also, I remember my folks telling me that they thought he was buried back East so maybe he did die back there and then they just brought him back to Fresno, which would explain both the lack of exact date of birth, death, and not being buried next to his wife. BMP didn't have a record of his wife being buried there either. I can't recall what I was doing in 1974, it was a pretty bad time for me (a lot of delayed maturing to do!) but I was always sorry I had missed knowing he was that ill. I lived on a street where all the children had grown up by the time I was able to have friends, and a lot of my friends were the comprised of the elderly neighbors on the block. I guess that's why I remember and miss him so vividly. Thank you for taking the time to look into this and, if I haven't thanked you before, for finding out the info on my grandmother Katie and cousins Probasco.
