Bio Photo "When I go to a cemetery, I don't just see tombstones. I see families there. I see history there. I see much more than just a stone..."

I've been working on genealogy for about 10 years now. I stumbled upon this site and so impressed with the idea that I decided to volunteer and add graves as I ran across them. It saddens me to see the state of some of the graveyards I've visited, but I feel like I'm helping save part of history by photographing the stones that are still there. If I can be of any help just let me know.

"Genealogy is the art of collecting tidbits of the lives of those who came before us. And a genealogist sorts, organizes and nurtures this info for the purpose of paying it forward to a future generation's hands. The bucket is in our hands now, for a moment it's "ours", but the rest of the brigade is waiting for that pail of water to be passed to the next soul." Gerblady

if you would like a transfer of a memorial, please use the "edit" button on the memorial and state your relationship. I will gladly transfer memorials within 4 direct generations. Others I will be happy to consider. :-)

RE: Edith Blanche
Hi Shmily,
The tale of two John's.
John H. Foutch (b) 4 Jul 1856 TN
#97820665 (d) 31 Mar 1928 TN

Betty (Goodwin) (b) 16 Aug 1962 TN
114645555 (d) 4 Aug 1900 TN
John R Foutch (b) 3 Sep 1863 TN
#27748186 (d) 9 Jan 1948 TX

Betty (b) 4 Mar 1864 TN
#27748201 (d) 15 Nov 1962 TX
Death of James Omer Foutch:
(b) 28 Sep 1890 TN
(d) 30 Dec 1947 TX
He was the fourth child.
(Father) John R Foutch
(Mother) Betty (Robertson)

In reference to the 1910 census that you mentioned:
Flora 41 Flora 41
Susie 25 Edith 22
16 19

William 38 William 38
Susie 25 Edith 22
13 16

I think Flora was married to a
man named XXX Goodwin before she married
William Scott. In those days, girls could
be marrie 12 to 15 yrs. old. Husbands were
about 10 yrs. older.
I have not been able to prove any of this.

RE: Edith Blanche
Hello again,
found John Martin Foutch;
(b) 1857 (d) 31 Mar 1928
Maple View Cemetery, Rutherford Co., TN.
also: Bettie Foutch Bone
(b) 16 Aug 1862 (d) 4 Aug 1900
Eastview Cemetery, DeKalb Co., TN.
she married William Provine Bone.

John's parents were:
Joel Dyer Foutch & Eliza McHenry
They had 11 children, I only found
John and one of his sisters.

Joel is supposed to be buried in
Maple View Cemetery but it is almost
fully photographed. Might be in an
unmarked grave.

Edith Blanche
Hi Shmily,
I've been checking on Edith and was successful.
In the Tn birth index it says:
Edith Blanch Foutch was born:
2 Mar 1888, Nashville, Davidson Co., TN
Her father was John Foutch
Her mother was Bettie Goodwin
I expect the Bettie was a nick name.

On Rootsweb, under the parents, it lists
the two sisters, Edith & Susie.

Edith Lake
You photo request for Edith is fulfilled, but there are no other markers in the immediate area with the Lake surname.

RE: Issac Harris at Bayside
How did you find out about Issac Harris in Bayside?
The records for bayside are a mess with many parts missing. I was surprised to see that you even had a gate number for him.
Did the book mention an age or date of death for him?
There are 2 Triangle Fire victims in Mokom Shalom and Acacia Cemeteries which boarder Bayside. There is also a Titanic Victim and a General Slocum victim (possibly 2)

RE: Florence Lake Owens
That's sad...but at least you found them both!

Unfortunately, this is the reason I'm in Florida:

IMO, no one in their right mind would come here in summer unless they had to -- LOL!

RE: Florence Lake Owens
Unfortunately, my feeble brain doesn't remember, LOL!

However, I found this death certificate at FamilySearch that looks to be the right one:,285475601

I'm out of town (Florida) at the moment, but Woodlawn Cemetery is very good about giving information to folks if they have a name and dod. You might give them a call about Edith Lake and get a plot location from them.

Wonder if she was divorced from Arthur, since his obit didn't mention being survived by a wife?

Hope this helps!

RE: Issac Harris at Bayside
There is nothing at all wrong with your listing. I just thought you might have been a relative that the family didnt know about. I list people on Find A Grave also, mainly people who I did repair work on their stones or mausoleums.

Issac Harris is mentioned in a book?
