Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became interested in genealogy several years ago, while attending a family reunion. Someone made the statement "If someone doesn't write this information down, then it's going to be lost". I realized how true that was, so I began my searches. I think "Family" is very important, and sometimes younger generations don't think much about the present time, then later begin to wonder. Of course, after all the info has been gathered, then family members request copies of the info, which I am happy to share.

Now that I have become aquainted with Find A Grave, I am trying to get as much info and photos added, as possible, to help others locate their loved ones.

If requesting transfers, or asking me to do corrections or additions, please do so, through the edit tab on the memorial you are requesting.

Thanks for creating/managing these lovely memorials. I believe I verified the last of my Great-great Grandfathers and mothers for my tree, all from my own living room. It is also now going to be some documented history with real names we can now claim for our mother and her cousins. Lynn P

RE: Catherine Wheeler
I should have looked at the 1870 census earlier. Catherine was indeed married twice and she appears as Catherine Rider in Jasper Co. Her daughter Frances Midkiff, was in the home as well.

Thanks Janice. I'm pretty sure she was married twice but I have some work to do to verify that. Your photos are wonderful by the way and very much appreciated.

Find a grave shows her married to John T. Rider. I show her married to John Midkiff with two children. Hope you can clarify.

Raymond Chaplin Memorial
Hi Janice,
Thanks for your response. Raymond's memorial #77754538 was entered in 7 Oct 2011 by B Pipher. I didn't see it at first, either, but I had initially looked for him in a state; but, he was lost at sea, so not connected to a state (a plaque in his parents' cemetery is pictured on his memorial page).
The 2011 memorial page is linked to his parents Russell and Ida Chaplin, so that is how I finally found him - was looking because he had another memorial page in Mississippi (he was on the church record which had not stated he was "buried at sea"), so that memorial has now been deleted. I've recently been talking with his sister - we were close neighbors. Thanks for helping get this all consolidated, Kathryn Haenggi Robinett
