My husband Rick Matthews lost his battle with lung cancer on Saturday, 2 Jul 2011. Please stop by and leave a note for him.
Rick and I were writing a book on the men of the 143rd PA Inf. and had located and photographed more than 1300 headstones of the 1526 men of that elite unit.
To honor my late husband, I will finish his book because it was so important to him that the men of the 143rd get the recognition they so richly deserve.
We appreciate the assistance of those who have helped us obtain photos from areas where we are not able to travel, and we return the favor by taking photos in our area for those who are unable to make it here to visit the graves of their ancestors. It's the next best thing to being there.
I have been doing genealogy for many years and run a free interactive genealogy group here in Luzerne Co., PA. We have more than 840 members from 14 countries on 4 continents, all with Luzerne Co., PA ancestors. Truly amazing!
You can find us at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_courthouse_gang/
Also, check out the Wilkes-Barre Record Almanacs: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wbalmanacs/index.html
(The Almanacs were transcribed by members of The Courthouse Gang on Yahoo.)
Please note: No transfers will be made if they are not requested by using the EDIT tab or if they are members of my family. | |

 | Taylor, W.F.--I got him linked.. Patty... Oops, I wrote too soon. I tried again, and managed to link W.F. Taylor to Hannah Elizabeth Mann Barber. Sorry to bother you, but think you might enjoy what little info I gave in my first letter. I will try to find their marriage date, and update that on Hannah's page. You may transfer W.F. Taylor to my care, if you wish. My Find A Grave# is #47301846. Thanks, Patty. Ann Winegar | | | ANN & BOB WINEGAR
 | TAYLOR, W.F. connect to wife, Hannah E. Mann Barber Thank you for the page for W.F. Taylor, Civil War Veteran, now buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Jerauld Co., Wessington Springs, South Dakota. I have learned that W.F. Taylor was the second husband of Hannah Elizabeth (Mann) Barber. I attempted to link the two, and the FAGrave numbers for W.F. Taylor does not come up to his name. I'm hoping you can do that. W.F. Taylor's Find A Grave # is #29904291. Hannah E. Mann Barber's Find A Grave # is #112253434. Let me know if you have trouble. Maybe we can figure out another way to link them together. W.F. Taylor is buried beside Hannah, and her first husband, Chancey Stockton Barber, is buried on the other side. I was puzzled by "why" W.F. was buried so close to Hannah, until I checked my genealogy program and found I had the information that W.F. was Hannah's second husband. | | | Lisa Winner Haas

 | Hon memorial Hi- Thanks so much for linking Giles to his wife and adding the info. And so fast! Was at the cemetery yesterday and was amazed at how beautiful the cemetery was up there on the mountain. Not too fond of the drive up the mountain though. If you get a chance, could you get a photo of Henry Winner #34704988? Could not find it and don't know where it is located in the cemetery. Thanks much. Lisa | | | Pamela Whitaker
