Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy for several years and have taken several pictures of my family and relatives grave stones. I am a retired pastor and my wife and I do a lot of traveling. I have many hobbies but photography probably tops the list even though some pictures don't come out the way I want. When I take a picture I try to make it as readable as I can and try to post all that is on the stone. I'm not just trying to post to get a large number but to help others with genealogy as I have been helped.
I have found a lot of newspaper articles and the funeral brochures that my parents had of people that I didn't know but I have posted several. I would be glad to help in any way that I can. I will transfer your relatives or close friends if they are not my relatives.
You may use any pictures that I have posted for genealogy purposes only.

Joshua S. March
You apparently added a gravestone photo to the Find A Grave memorial for Joshua Sands March:

I believe that photo is not correct for that burial. There seems to have been two Joshua S March's in Illinois in the mid 1800s.

One was the above Joshua Sands March (Find A Grave #76745529) who lived 1840-1897 (s/o Caroline Henrietta Cox Henshaw & Thomas H. March).

The other was a Joshua S. March who died Feb 19 1865 and is buried in a totally different cemetery:
See the above Find A Grave #2557081 - the gravestone photo there looks identical to the gravestone photo you posted above (wrong Joshua March, wrong cemetery).

Ancestry's U.S. National Cemetery burial records (scanned images of cemetery burial records) confirms the info for the second Joshua #2557081 above. But the first Joshua #76745529 (where you posted the photo) is known to have died in 1897, not 1865. The gravestone photo belongs on the other Joshua March's page.

wrong information
I want to thank you for the photo you have added first! Can you change info on my dad's Find a grave? His mother is not Corine, she was Mary Aileen Carrico Vize, and Patrick and Leroy Vize are his full blood brothers. The others and there are more, are his HALF brother and sisters. It is showing incorrect information. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE Sherry Vize, daughter of Henry W Vize.

Thank You - Jehle Transfers
Hello Rev. Sims,

Thank you so much for transferring Louis and Augusta's memorials to me back in mid-November. I have researched the Pana Jehle's extensively and am so happy to be able to work on Louis' biography, especially, as he seemed to have played a very active role in Pana in the early 1900's.

Florence and Arthur Gould
Rev. Sims: Could you please transfer my Aunt Florence and Uncle Arthur's memorial to me. I would like to connect them to other relatives. I'm not sure exactly how this is done. Thanks so much. I appreciate your adding them to the Find a Grave Site. Donna Allen

Rosemond Grove Cemetery
I noticed you have entered a lot of graves in the above cemetery. Did you have a cemetery book? I entered a grave for Dr. William Campbell. I found the obit in an old newspaper and now someone is wanting to know if his wife is buried there. She died in Iowa in 1945 but he also died in Iowa. I went to our genealogy society but did not find a book for that cemetery. If the cemetery was read, Dr.Campbell either does not have a stone or they missed him. Wondering if you can give me a clue on this. thanks, Kay

James W Cox 59943358
Rev. Sims -
In researching my McDonald descendants, I came upon your entry for James W Cox, husband of Ella Rutledge. Your entry shows James' parents to be Samuel and Jane Baber Cox of New Jersey. My source, "The McDonalds of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia" by Joseph T McDonald, shows James' parents as Samuel Cox Jr and Eleanor McDonald Cox of Frederick County, VA. who moved to Shelby County, Indiana after their wedding in Virginia. You also have created the entry for Alcinda Cox Hansen who I believe to be James' Sister. The father linked from that entry is my Samuel Cox from Virginia. I'd like to be sure James W is part of my family. Could you please provide source material that support Samuel and Jane Baber Cox being James' parents? Thanks.

Louis & August Jehle - Linwood Cemetery
Hello Rev. Sims,

I'm researching my Jehle ancestry and in fact just returned from a trip to Christian and Shelby Counties in Illinois (wonderful & productive trip).

While there I walked nearly all of Linwood Cemetery outside Pana to photograph the Jehle markers, including those for Louis & Augusta and did not find one for them (there are no marker photos on either memorial).

So . . . I'm very curious if you created their Find A Grave memorials based only on the Death Certif. info you posted or if you had additional sources/ records to confirm their burial at Linwood. Louis seems to have been a wealthy man so it seems unlikely he and his wife were buried in unmarked graves.

Would you pls let me know if you have/had additional "proof" of their burial in Linwood (and if so what it is)? I very much want to be certain re their burial location. Thank you so much!

Find A Grave #47594137

(PS - I also visited Mound Cemetery and found the marker of a GGGGrandfather, Benj. Persinger; you transferred his Find A Grave memorial to me in 2013. Was able to work on the marker (tilted and somewhat buried) and discovered 2 "buried" lines of inscription, very rewarding & exciting!. )

Methodist Cemetery
Thank you for the pictures, I am beginning genealogy of my husband's family. In the Methodist Cemetery in Tower Hill, Pa you are listed under Jane Tripp as photographer. Her birthdate and death are listed as unknown but wife of David S. Tripp also buried here. She was born in 1823 in Ohio and Died in 1880. This is all the information I have so far Thank you again. Linda
