Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy for several years and have taken several pictures of my family and relatives grave stones. I am a retired pastor and my wife and I do a lot of traveling. I have many hobbies but photography probably tops the list even though some pictures don't come out the way I want. When I take a picture I try to make it as readable as I can and try to post all that is on the stone. I'm not just trying to post to get a large number but to help others with genealogy as I have been helped.
I have found a lot of newspaper articles and the funeral brochures that my parents had of people that I didn't know but I have posted several. I would be glad to help in any way that I can. I will transfer your relatives or close friends if they are not my relatives.
You may use any pictures that I have posted for genealogy purposes only.

James Whitcomb nothing else on paper
Charley, buried in Missouri. nothing else on paper
Willard, nothing else on paper.
I found, questionable if correct, a birthdate for Whitcomb as 2-14-1847, d. 2-28-1885, buried at Pleasant Grove; Charley b. 10-9-1869,d. 4-27-1944, w-Pearl McCullough, buried in Missouri.
The paper I am taking this from, also states the children of Grant and Susan, as Whitcomb, wife Edith, Mary and Dovie Radcliff; William D. Paul and wife, Mary Jane, children as Arthur, Pearl Faris and James; and Hannigan as grandfather of Nellie Lewis Roberts.
If I find anymore papers concerning the Lewis's, I will send it to you.

Schinzler Headstone in Bethany Cem
What started out today as scanning many old photographs my grandmother collected during her lifetime, has now turned out that maybe you and I could be related.
I grew up in Decatur, Il but now live in Colorado. But, I came across a photo of a tombstone of a George Schinzler. I did not know where it was so searching I found that Bethany Cem. in Moweaqua. I spent a lot of time in/around Moweaqua as a child, grandma had a farm south of town. Anyway, her name was Velma L Atteberry, her mother was Rosa Sims. So, that lets me believe that we could be related somehow.
I found your name on Find a Grave as adding the photos of the Schinzler tombstone.
Are you from the area?
Thank you, Paul D LaBounty

Lewis family, Martin County, Ind
Hi, I notice that you have entered several Lewis family members. I have a family tree sheet that my mother-in-law had, it lists children of David and Catherine Lewis, buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. It list the children as Hannigan, Sarah, Noah, Green, William D. Paul, Grant, Laura, Mary Exie, Mahalia, Whitcomb, and Charley. It also has the names of Grant and Susan children as Whitcomb, Mary and Dovie Radcliff; William wife Mary Jane, children as Arthur, Pearl Faris and James. I am thinking that Laura was my husband's grandmother. The form also states that Mahalia married a Thomas Webb, buried in a cemetery in Colorado. I have not looked through all the forms, so may find some others that you might be interested in.
I gathered some information from the info found on findagrave entries, as to who married who, dates of death, and etc. Thank you for all the info.

Vermilia Pruett
I have found this tombstone on your virtual cemetery, and I think this is really PERMELIA HAMMONS PRUETT, who married Micajah Pruett, in Tennessee. They had a daughter named Margaret, and I have found family trees on Ancestry that say Micah Pruett and Vermilia Hammons were married, and had Margaret. The birth and death dates on the tombstone for VERMILIA are not the correct birth dates for PERMELIA, but, please, use this a lead that this may really be PERMELIA HAMMONS PRUETT. PLEASE, ANYONE INTERESTED, CONTACT ME, DEBBIE ROSENBLOOM, AT Let's solve this mystery....

Sarah (Hays) Blackmore

Sarah (Hays) Blackmore is buried in Sidney, Illinois. THANK YOU for posting the picture of her tombstone. Her husband, Laban Blackmore, was living with her in the 1850 census. His tombstone is NOT on FindAGrave, but I am wondering if he might be buried beside her. Some people show "L.R. Blackmore" buried in Oklahoma in 1881, but they have no birth date for him, so it seems to be impossible to "assume" that is the right Laban R. Blackmore, or another person with the same initials. I am not finding him after the 1850 census, although the census might be mis-indexed, so he may be there, but I just haven't found him yet.

I am wondering if you might be able to help determine what happened to Laban Blackmore, born ca 1801 Ohio. I am a volunteer chapter Registrar for DAR. A lady I am helping would like to join DAR through Laban Blackmore.

Thank you for anything you can do to help me.
