Hi Y'all. I'm a Central Pennsylvania native living in Eastern Georgia. I'm tracking down and documenting family names including Daugherty, Sprunger, Amstutz, Updegraff (and its variations Updegrave, Uptagrafft, Updegrove, etc.). I'm also interested in family names Antes, Bixler, Bressler, Coffee, Ferree, Gillinger, Habegger, Herr, Kendig, Logan, Pennington, Rothlischberger, Williams. |
I'm part of the great Pennsylvania melting pot, a descendant of Scotch-Irish, Swiss Mennonite, French Huguenots, Moravians, English, German, and Welsh ancestors. The "huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
I'm also looking for my wife's family including Devaney, Hayman, Holley, Leffler, Ricketson, Robertson, Seiter, Street, Tuemler, Williams.
I'm trying to photograph as much as possible, and create an accurate, historical record. I'll be glad to transfer non-family members. I've enjoyed getting to know my extended family members through Findagrave.
Please visit my famous relatives:

|Linda Simpson Davidson||Mary Anna Tate Daugherty|
Hi, Bill. I visited Edge Hill Cemetery in Charlestown, WV, today to see if I could find the cemetery stone for Mary Anna Tate Daugherty, first wife of Joseph T. Daugherty. I was able to find her in the lot of her father William Tate. After carefully studying the stone, I believe the date of death is: 11th January 1832. Even though the death year could be read 1852, a very close look shows the fancy lettering to be 1832, not 1852. This makes sense since I have found a marriage notice of Joseph T. Daugherty to Emily Matilda Jones, his second wife, in 1834. I know that the second wife's tombstone has her name as Emily M. Marchant, wife of Joseph T. Daugherty. (She may have remarried a Marchant after Joseph died in 1842. Will research that.) In Joseph's will he refers to his first wife and names his present wife as Emily Matilda Daugherty. I'm adding my photos of the tombstones of this family to Findagrave and linking them together. Let me know what you think.

Your welcome! I posted all that were right there. they were tough to find as they were all grown over.

You're welcome. Sorry that the marker is so hard to read. We tried taking several photographs of it and finally settled on incuding a transcription of the marker.
|NicS||RE: Ralph Bahn Photo|
You are welcome! I also added a photo of Nell Bahn now as well in Pineslope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, SD. She is buried next to Ralph.

My pleasure. I had never seen a memorial with a sundial on top. It was really quite striking.

"A German Hero of the Colonial Times of Pennsylvania" and "On The Frontier with Colonel Antes" both about Henry Antes and I have a small 1879 book on Faulkner's Swamp which tells how "Washington and his staff quartered under the friendly roof (of Antes Fort)"
|Robert Nolan||RE: Evelyn Daugherty Walther Photo|
I uploaded the pic to both memorials. I just checked and it is on George's site.
