Family history has long tugged at my heartstrings. It has also been a vehicle for meeting "cousins" and new friends as we assist and exchange data. Inevitably, errors occur so, please inform me of any you may discover on the info I have added (and I'm happy to place additional facts...THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! If I have inadvertently overlooked anyone, please know that I am sincerely appreciative of your input.) to this fantastic site directly from that memorial.|
Will consider transfer of family members to "per Find A Grave guidelines "(Please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial transferred to you. Please, DO NOT post requests on my Bio page as it is very time consuming to search for those memorials and less accurate. Also include in your request your unique Contributor ID # which is displayed to the right of your member name on your profile page. Transfers: Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested if you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree."Transfer requests should be for direct relatives WITHIN FOUR GENERATIONS, this would be your Siblings, Parents, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents. EXPLAIN your Relationship in the request. Any non-direct relatives (Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc.) are Not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer. BULK surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred. Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information.). I will ONLY TRANSFER management of memorials to immediate relatives as defined in the Find A Grave rules...this is their policy. Other requests WILL be ignored. AGAIN, PLEASE USE the "EDIT" and "SUGGEST A CORRECTION". Additional data should not be placed in the flower/token area of the memorial page. I also need an email address, or way to contact you when you send me requests and questions. Many Newbies are not making themselves familiar with site guidelines and sadly, some simply do not care. I'm also very capable of adding data so, please do not ask me to transfer and you'll transfer the memorial pg back to me after you've added more data. The guidelines also state to allow 30 days for updates. Patience is necessary as I have a life beyond this site. In the event of the same memorial listed twice on the same day, please refer to the MEMORIAL number. The lowest MEMORIAL # was the one added first, with the highest MEMORIAL # being the duplicate.
Virtual cemeteries are the way to "gather" your ancestors together. I respect all contributors of FAG and do expect the same from them. Also, please keep in mind we are contributing this very important data for future generations so they might continue the wonderful work that we are currently peforming. The focus is assisting others and remembering those who passed before us.
I'm honored to add those who have passed into their eternal life as they should never be forgotten. ALL of these wonderful memorials are NOT related to me as I have added others I "met" while doing research at cemeteries, libraries, or seeking data on the Internet. Feel free to visit and leave floral/tokens/messages. Heartfelt thanks also to my fab ancestors!

I read the obit, but can you tell me where it came from? I need a source citation for my work.
Glad it was helpful. We knew the younger family from youth baseball days and Bill as he had been principal when our kids were in jr high, I think. Good family!

Wow is all I can say!!! I am very impressed at the work and diligence you folks at Find a Grave have. I found a pleasant email today telling me that "Iriss Hill" and other hard working members were able to find the grave markers of some of my ancestors. Great big KUDOS to all that were involved in finding the "Bilciks" in Florida. Thank you!! Special thanks to Iriss Hill for shepherding the find!! .....GenoNewbie

Dear Susan, have been unable to obtain any info (from family) on my Grandfather(Everett Whitley's) middle name of 'Rue'. Barb
YOU ARE SO THOUGHTFUL !!!!!
It threw me off when I first seen Iriss Hill on several memorials that I was going to add but Iriss Hill bet me to it and then I figured it out that's Susan lol :-) I was use to you betting me to getting them posted but not Iriss ... that light bulb finally turn on in my head …
I do hope things are going well for you. I do try very hard to find out information on memorials especially the burial information and I have sent that information to people that posted the memorial and did not know the burial information but I never thought of creating another memorial when there already was one; even though the guidelines state that the one with the burial information will be the one that is considered to be created first. It's not about the numbers to me, it's about getting the information correct and having all the blanks filled in like the full date of birth, place of birth, full date of death and place of death. Researching information to be able to create a bio so when others look at it they can read something about the person's life; also having a photo of the person and not just their grave is important to me and if you can get both that's great! Getting as much information as possible is my goal regardless of who created them.
Thanks for all your hard work. Your memorials always look so nice and I do notice that you go out of your way to try to get a photo of the person and include a bio and birth and death information when you can find it or if another member sends it to you then you add it. You are very good about looking at your SACs and responding to them when we know some people just ignore them.
Hope you remembered to turn your clocks ahead an hour last night … it will take a while for our bodies to get use to it :-)

Yet another heartbreaking story. I'm currently living in Valrico which is not far from Brandon. I grew up in Tampa, therefore I'm familiar with the Ybor City area which was known many years for their cigars and immigrants from Cuba moving there after Castro took over their country. When I heard Apryl was missing I followed the story close, praying along with many she would return home safe.
I attempted to send a SAC to William regarding Apryl's birthday and the computer would not let me because it said that you had already sent SAC requests and they were pending. I was wondering if any of your recommended additions had been added.
