Bio Photo Yes, that Rosebud from "Citizen Kane".
The final utterance of the fictional
Charles Foster Kane
one moment before his death.
What is the final thought
in life of the great man?
What does it mean? Regrets? Lost love?
Something else totally?
See the film if you haven't.

Okay. We're not that Rosebud,
But we do have our own interesting Story to tell.

And Death Shall Have No Dominion
BY DYLAN THOMAS

And death shall have no dominion.
Dead men naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
Under the windings of the sea
They lying long shall not die windily;
Twisting on racks when sinews give way,
Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break;
Faith in their hands shall snap in two,
And the unicorn evils run them through;
Split all ends up they shan't crack;
And death shall have no dominion.

And death shall have no dominion.
No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores;
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain;
Though they be mad and dead as nails,
Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,
And death shall have no dominion.

RE: Edward Cox
Rose,
So, I followed up at Woodlawn today. I walked the entire child's section but did not find any Cox(es) there. Also, I located the plot with Herbert, Ada, Anna, John and Emma but there were no children buried there either. Once again, there was a grave space open with no marker so it is possible that if any of them had children that did not survive more than a few years that child may be buried in the unmarked grave.

I also did a little more research on your previous message eand I did locate a death record for Ada Cox from 1927. There were several records for children with the name Cox, however, no records for twins or for a child born of Herbert and Ada. Additionally, I believe Edwin Cox, the brother of Herbert, and his wife Hilda may be buried in Druid Ridge Cemetery in Sykesville, Baltimore County. This cemetery is a little further up the road and I have been there to fulfill open grave requests (as well as find some for my own research). At some point before the end of the year I hope to revisit Druid Ridge to fulfill additional open requests.

RE: Charles A. and Mary E. Cox
Rosebud,
You are more than welcome for all of the photos and I genuinely appreciate your kind words of thanks. The Cox memorials were all together in the same plot, side by side by side. There was an empty plot between two of them, however, off the top of my head I cannot remember which two it was between. There is also a section devoted to children only. If you let me know who you are looking for I will be more than happy on my next visit to see if I can find a marker for the person/child you are looking for. I truly enjoy assisting other members find their missing "pieces" and am glad that I was able to help.
Best Regards,
KDorsey

RE: Joesph and Selma Braun
it was no problem,,,I actually went out there last fall, and took pictures of EVERY headstone out there. Well, the ones I could read, some are so OLD and worn you can't tell much. but, with my husband's last 3 generations buried out there, I was covering all my bases! LOL, this is what happens when you're dealing with families of 12 and 13 kids, all in the same area for years.

Glad I could help!

Hi RoseBud,
The weather finally cleared enough that I was able to take the photo that you requested for Isaac John "Bunk" Adams. Hope that you approve of it.

Isaac Adams
Hi RoseBud,
I located Isaac "Bunk" Adams' marker today. I will fulfill the claim as soon as I am able to, as at present, it is decorated with many decorations which conceal it. If not done in two weeks time, I will remove them, photograph the marker for you, and replace the decorations.
Isaac "Bunk" is a cousin of mine, and I Will get it done for you.

photo request, Donald Joseph Wood
RoseBud (#48448869),

I have just completed photographing 99.9% of the grave markers at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Lansing, Illinois. And I will be posting them as I have time. There are some unreadable markers and unmarked graves.

Scanning through the photos I did not find: Donald Joseph Wood.

You may want to contact the Oak Ridge Cemetery at info@oakridgecemetery.net or 708.333.0622 to verify interment.

If you can obtain the location of the burial plot I will look again next time Iím there.

There also are many other cemeteries in Illinois with similar names for example:

Oakridge-Glen Oak Cemetery Also known as: Glen Oak Cemetery, Oak Ridge Cemetery
4301 West Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162, (708) 344-5600

Oak Ridge Cemetery, 1441Monument, Springfield, IL 62702, (217) 789-2340

Good hunting,
