|marjorie Winkelman ||knox family|
I am researching my husband Jim Winkelman's Irish ancestry and was delighted to find all the information from the Cemetery in McHenry. Jim's mother was Anna Muriel Knox and she married Elmer Winkelman.
The only document we had was Jim's Grandmother Annie Slavin's marriage to John Knox. (I have their wedding photo if anyone is interested) Now we have the vital records of the parents Edmund Knox and Mary Doherty from Ireland. QUESTION: The listing of children of Edmund Knox gives the birth year of 1845 for both William and John. Twins?
Jim remembers his Grannie Knox, who apparently was a beloved person in McHenry and written up in the local paper when she died in 1942. The Winkelmans visited every summer the three acre farm which Grandma Knox and John had maintained and which remained in the Winkelman family until Elmer Winkelman's death in 1960s. Annie Slavin Knox's bachelor brothers, Tom and John, lived with her for a time and helped with the farm. With the help of Jim I can add details re: his mother's siblings if you are interested.
It was wonderful to see the picture of Edmund--do you know where that is from? I am presently sorting a box of family photos and hope to identify them.
With appreciation for all the work you have done,
|Robert Hunt||John Clary|
I have made a memorial page for William Price Clary

|Kathy Lutzke||Michael Doherty|
Would you have personal knowledge if he had a son Peter J. who was born in Ireland about 1867?
Thanks for your response.
