Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born and raised in Holdenville, Hughes County, Oklahoma. The branches of my family have been in this area since before statehood. I have been active in researching my family tree since around 1990. I would be glad to take short trips to the surrounding area to take requested photos.

Millie (Martin) Sherrill
My 2nd cousin is on a quest to find her grandparents' parents and Millie F (Martin) Sherrill is one of them. For some reason she couldn't find anything on the parents for Marcus Brutus Harkins & Exie Sariffie (Sherrell) Harkins (you took pictures of both of their stones & found the mother) and we thank you. These are her grandparents on her other side of the family not related to me. I was amazed there is so little information on them. Usually you can find other peoples research but I guess no one has researched them yet. Thanks again, Mindy

Wow! Never received an answer that fast. Looks like I went to the main person in getting the facts, Historical Society and Museum and I did not have Sarah "Sallie" F, last name, now I do...Brown. I do not have the 1910 census for her but I do have the 1930 for Sallie L Chapman in Hughes Oklahoma. The picture of their headstone on Find A Grave the flowers are coverng up the month of their wedding date. For some reason I had they were married in June but will change it. The person who I am related to... is Margret "Mattie" Phillips, she would be my Great grand aunt. Wish I could find where she is buried. Danny, thank you so much for your help. You made my day

RE: Millie Diamond Furness
Thank you for the information. I have a copy of her marriage record to Otis Roberts. I know they had at least two children. In the 1930 census, she is living with her children and mother in Colorado and listed as divorced. I do not know where the last name of Furness comes in, did she remarry or did she change it to her mother's maiden name. And is there a relationship to the people buried in the same lot as her? Hopefully, someone who is family will find her and can fill in the blanks.

You should add Harry to the site, his death certificate shows he is buried in Holdenville Cemetery.
