Whiting Maine Village Cemetery entries have been checked against meticulous research by the late Rebecca Hobart, Dennysville, Maine historian. Some inscriptions have become more difficult to read since her initial recording. I cannot find some stones she recorded. Supplemental data is from surrounding town records, particularly Townsend, Vital Records of Lubec Prior to 1892, and Forslund, History of Whiting, Maine. Similarly, Split Hill records were checked against transcriptions of Bernard Ross; Mr Ross also extensively documented the Lubec Cemetery.
The mistakes are mine; thank you for bringing them to my attention.

You state that her tombstone says she was 15 years old, so she could have been born in 1857. I show 1847.

Hi, You have him dying on April 31st. There isn't 31 days in April, perhaps you read this incorrectly?

I left some edits for Maria for you.
|memento mori||Lillian Cleaves (113635830)|
I left some edits for Lillian for you to make. Her maiden name was in fact Huckins, because she was born of Maria Fanning's first marriage.

I am very interested in the grave of Henry F Farr listed in Scottow Hill Cemetery Scarborough Maine. If you could assist me in the the location as it is not something that is visible from the road and that he must have been buried on his property at the time. you mention that it is being maintained, i checked with the town public works and they show the spot being in the woods but they do not service it. is it being maintained by the local veterans center. any help would be greatly appreciated. this veteran from the civil war is my ggg grandfather and i have been looking for him. thank you again.

Hi, You have his year of birth incorrect, if you take his DOD from his DOB you are only at 89 years of age. I believe his DOB was in 1771. Thanks, Sandy

Thanks for the photo. I am sure there are many more Mahars in this cemetery but I don't have info. Ellery's wife name was Nellie Thompson Mahar. Again, thanks.
