CATHOLIC MOUNT AUBURN - UPDATE 10-20-2014
MANY EARLY CAMBRIDGE DEATHS NOTED ON CEMETERY RECORDS DO NOT NAME A SPECIFIC FIRST NAME.IN SOME INSTANCES THEY MAY REPRESENT THE LOT PURCHASE AND NOT A BURIAL. I AM REVIEWING THOSE DEATHS TO CAMBRIDGE DEATH RECORDS & ADDING THEM TO FINDAGRAVE

Headstones are completed.

April 1854- June 30, 1882, Jan 1885 - June 30, 1898, compared to cemetery records and Ancestry.com death records.

Also partial records July 1, 1882 - December 31, 1884.
(Missing June 1885) (August 1895)

There are many name errors on the cemetery records.

This is the final review and I am adding maiden names to Findagrave.com as I find them.

So far the municipal burial records for Catholic Mount Auburn are noted as:
Watertown, R C Cemetery Watertown, Mount Auburn, Cambridge, Calvary and a few as Dorchester

****May 1882 to December 1885 records have not been done. The Catholic Archives does not have them, however I have not checked with the Catholic Cemetery Association. That will be done at the end of this project.

I also have a list of 91 Civil War Veterans buried or memorialized. Please email if you want that list.

I am happy to transfer names.

Dear Bill... I'm sorry, I don't think I replied to this message before because I just noticed it. I would appreciate it if you would transfer the names. I was just looking for your old email to get the link to the page where you had photographed the Galvin's spot to sponsor it. Thanks again. Nora

Re: Timothy J McCarthy family
Hi Bill,
I believe that John, died 1907, and Johanna McCarthy, died 1915 are the parents of Timothy J. McCarthy, 1874-1907.
Are there others buried in the lot with John and Johanna?
I did not recognize any of those buried in either lot you mentioned. Perhaps they were family, but not family I am familiar with.
I really appreciate your work!

RE: Mary Gleason
YES!! That's my great grandmother. I'm surprised that she was able to come over.
However, my sister has a bed that is reported to have crossed the Atlantic five times. Great find!

Hope you are wearing your hero hat. You have earned it.

Warm regards,

Doris Haskell

Timothy J McCarthy grave
Thank you for finding the grave of Timothy J McCarthy in Mt Auburn Cemetery, Catholic Cemetery. I was unable to locate this grave of my husband's great grandfather..probably because I didn't know he was buried in the Catholic section.
He is buried alone because his widow remarried and was buried with her second husband.

Thank you for the work you
have done!!!
