Bio and Links
Bio Photo I find 'Find A Grave' a great research tool. I'm retired, living in Traverse City, Michigan and using genealogy as a way of keeping my mind active. I have been president of Grand Traverse Area Genealogical Society and am a member of Austin Family Association of America.

I do transfers, links, change information and anything else I can to make FAG a place that is user friendly. It is the members of Find A Grave who make it great place to spend your research time.

If you are related to any person on my memorial list, send me and e-mail or a public message about your family.

My family lines are Austin, Penix/Penick, Paradis, King, Bowman, Joseph, Taft, Seelye, Todd, Pinette, Nadeau, Rose, Reed, Barker, Lovejoy, and Foster.

RE: Traverse City Miller family
Oops, I should have searched for Wells before making that bold statement and pushed the send button. Wells is indeed in Oakwood Cemetery along with his wife and the majority of his siblings. I just didn't find his grave location so don't have a photo of his stone. But there it is on FindAGrave!! So, who would be left to have been buried in a cemetery near Miller Hill? Hmmm.

More later.

RE: Traverse City Miller family
Hi Mary,

Your note is very interesting. Yes, that is my family--the wife of Daniel Miller, Ann Hart Miller, is a 3x great aunt of mine. I am not aware of a cemetery there on Miller Hill or adjacent roads. But I only "found" the Miller family about 10 years ago after having no contact with my distant Miller relatives for years. So, I will pass your note to them and see if they are aware of anything. I visited Miller Hill area only once about 5 years ago, so don't know the area very well at all. BTW, Daniel Miller and Ann are buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City along with some other members of the family. But their son Wells Miller and family are not there. So where are they?

I'll get back to you when I get replies from my cousins. Thanks for inquiring. I love a good brick wall knockdown!

Mary, Thank you, I deleted it and will put it on his daughter's memorial page.

Thanks for all you do to help us find our families. I just started a genealogy group at our church. We are going to visit an LDS library together. One of our members volunteers for them.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Thank You
Hi Mary,

Thank you for the excellent photo of Samuel E. Guy's headstone at Lakeview Cemetery which you posted today. The photo is an excellent addition to his memorial. I sincerely appreciate your personal time taken to do this for me.

RE: Hulda Howland
My source for Huldah Howland is from "The Eddy Family In America", 1968 supplement, page 9. It does not have an initial of "M" but anyway born 17 or 19 Oct 1774 at RI. Died 9 Jul 1847 at Knoxville, PA. It says she and her husband Emmer Bowen were buried in the Quaker Burial Grounds, Knoxville. Parents were John Howland and Lois Eddy Howland. I will have to add that the Eddy genealogy and books are mostly compiled from family donating info so it is not always gospel. I try to back up the info with other sources. In this case, the 1968 book is all I have. Thank you for all your work.

I have recently been looking for family history, I came across a picture of my grandparents grave on this site. It says that you have uploaded the photo, so I was reaching out on how I might be able to find more information. I can't seem to find any except this and his military records. I don't find his his name or his wife's, or even my fathers in any census reports. If you could email some tips that would be great. Best wishes Carrie

If you want me to transfer any memorials to you, I would be more than happy to do so. Just give me a list of numbers.

RE: Mahala Krum #119165398
Hello Mary

Thank you for correcting the information :)

Who are you related to in the cemetery? The Talmadges by any chance?

I am on a hunt for information on Samuel Talmadge's wife Jane Hill (Mahala is a sister to Samuel) and Mahala's mother Sarah Lyon. Both seem to have dropped out of a tree (he-he) and have no parents to speak of.

The paternal side of my tree is Youmans so I have had my work cut out for me !!

Hope you are enjoying your day
