Bio and Links
Bio Photo This is a fun and interesting hobby for me, as well as a great way to perform a meaningful community service to others. Someday I hope to have more free time to devote to it.
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will make exceptions if I am doing photo requests for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. FIND A GRAVE ADMINISTRATORS SUPPORT THIS POLICY. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.

Since March 2013 I have taken over management of memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.

Hi-Yes I do remember you! There is a kiosk that will print a map but it doesn't show the grave location or how to get to it. I will be at Ft Rosecrans today to do some photos too, maybe we can meet at the office. I will post a temporary photo of a map of the grave location for you. Their site overlooks the bay and the city of San Diego. I'll use YOUR memorial for Tony Aagaard to send my contact info. Let me know when you get it.

Culver City-Holy Cross
Hello B. J.

I also felt that I was treated poorly, and overly questioned to the max from one man representing the Culver City Holy Cross Cemetery. He asked several questions to prove who I was, including who would have been the proper informant at the time of my 2nd cousin's death...... (I think that would be the right relationship.) He would have been my great grandmother's nephew..... Good grief! This person had died in 1942, 9 years before I ever would have had a chance to meet him. He called me back, left no message, no word or anything... I kept wondering when he was going to call I kept waiting. After a few days, I returned the call to the cemetery, and I was basically told he should never have treated me with this rudeness. The man I was seeking was my actual deceased family member.. Are you kidding me? He wanted to know who the informant was in 1942?

Yes, I thought it very rude....

Inez Lillian (Jolley) Truesdell Memorial #43074973
Dear B.J.,
It was not my intention to upset you when I sent the suggestion yesterday, for Inez Lillian (Jolley) Truesdell. As I mentioned, you have her linked to her grandparents, not her parents. I sent this first request back on 2 Jan 2011. At that time, they did not have the SAC, so a message was sent to you via your public message screen. On the memorial page for Inez, I wrote: Inez Lillian Jolley, b: 3 Apr 1906, Missouri, d: 13 Aug 1948, Los Angeles, Ca. Daughter of John Edward Jolley and Lillian Leota Henderson. Married Howard Bert Truesdall.

My intention for leaving the memorial message, was to let other researchers know that you had an incorrect link. That way, hopefully, they would do their research and not put the wrong info in their tree. I would remove the note as soon as you corrected the problem. It was never corrected by you.

Five years later, it was still not corrected so I sent you the following message on 11 Feb 2016:

Inez Lillian (Jolley) Truesdell, #4304973, was the daughter of John Edward Jolley, #43074983 and Lillian Leota Henderson, #43074986. You have her parents as John Allen Jolley and Priscilla Jane Bellamy. They were her grandparents. (Nothing in that note that should have upset you).

I then left another message on her memorial: Inez Lillian (Jolley) Truesdell. Corrected parents still has not been fixed.

Again, my intention is to remove this note as soon as the correction is made.

As you should remember, the two messages that you left me, reads as follows:

Inez Truesdell
Thank you for the information. Please use the Edit tab and I will change the links. The request for the incorrect links was just made today. I do not research anyone's suggestions. I expect that they know what they are doing when they ask for links. However, my list of "already approved" edits is over 5,000 and it would be very difficult to go through them to find out who gave me that edit. They are not in order by date.

Would you please remove the flower that says "still has not been fixed" as I was never previously asked to "fix" anything. Do you think that by leaving the earlier "flower" that refers to a correct link, that it will get fixed that way? How in the world would I ever have seen that?

As of this writing B.J. the correction has not been made. If you do not want to correct this, please transfer the memorial to me and I will do it.

Dear B.J.,

Please note that if I had created this memorial without indicating a cemetery to begin with, FindAGrave allows final disposition to be indicated for up to 30 days (see FindAGrave FAQ excerpt below). It may be more helpful to use a last name search to avoid duplicates. Regards,

How do I add a memorial when I'm not sure what cemetery they are buried?
This is similar to adding a memorial for cremation. Do not create a new cemetery which does not exist in order to add these memorials. Use the Family and Friends link and select the Burial:Other and then Recent Death, location of body unknown option. Location of body unknown is used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition must be determined and updated within 30 days.
