I hope I have not offended anyone by adding their loved one to Find A Grave. I adopted this project as a gesture of love and respect for family & others who have passed on. If we fail to talk about our ancestors, they are forgotten. On the other hand, if we talk about them & search for answers, they will live in our hearts & minds forever. |
I have no problem with anyone using my Find A Grave photographs. If you intend on putting them anywhere else on the internet then give proper credit when using one of my photos: don sanford - Indiana
Do not download & repost any of my photos onto memorials you create!
I will be glad to link memorials and add info to the bios upon request via edit, make a suggestion links.
Please follow Find A Grave guidlines prior to requesting memorial transfers.
Since Nov 12, 2014 I have been bombarded with around 650 SACís in less than one month from this person who is literally going through every one of my memorials looking for any excuse to fire off another SAC. There have been a handful of SACís that needed attention. Most all were due to nicknames I had placed in parentheses instead on the nickname field. With vision in one eye which has wet type macular degeneration and requires a shot every two months to keep me from going blind, it was easier for me to copy and paste names from my family tree into Find A Grave including the nick names I had in parentheses.
As I started looking at each SAC, I soon found mistakes as deleting parts of names, maiden names and even attempting to change spelling variations of family I knew was correct. I began to decline every single edit and sent a not too nice of a message to this person telling them to stop that they were wasting my and their time.
Lo and behold in a few days I get a message from Find A Grave on my member page with information on naming procedures for me to obviously obey..
This week I looking at the SACís I had declined & begin to see numerous SACís where the "declined" status had been changed to "no change". As I started looking at these I found someone had moved the nicknames in parentheses which I had put in the name field to the nick name field and soon found mistakes made in that process.
Fearful whoever was overriding the declines would even make more mistakes I spent the better part of the day just deleting every last nickname in all memorials where SACís had been sent by this person.

Don are you and Alma related? Stephen(trying to see if I have you in my tree) The Ky and Tn branches were elusive!!Most left Virginia in the mid 1700's so records are hard to find.

Thanks. I like linking members. john and Diane, from Findagrave, showed me the "formula" and I've even linked cousins and great uncles etc to some. Sure helps if people are doing genealogy.
