Bio Photo 23 March 2016 - I am trying to get caught up on all of the corrections that have been sent to me. I am very far behind. I have been approving the automated edits regularly, but anything that needs to be manually done has fallen behind. My apologies to everyone. I'm working to get them done as quickly as possible.

Please use the new editing process to submit corrections. It makes life so much easier for everyone involved!

I have been infatuated with cemeteries since I was a little girl, so it makes sense that I would be drawn to genealogy as an adult. I am very fortunate that my job takes me all over the place so that I can visit the final resting place of generations of my relatives. It also allows me to take photos or do transcriptions in various cemeteries throughout the country even if I do not personally have family members buried there.

Doing cemetery transcriptions is a labor of love. It requires a lot of hard work and sweat, and sometimes a lot of bug repellent, but I think it's one of the greatest hobbies around. I feel it is very important to document the final resting place of those gone before us so that others can know where their family members are buried. It is also important to preserve some of the older cemeteries before all is lost due to climate and/or lack of upkeep.

I am trying to obtain death certificates for those buried in the following Houston County, Alabama Cemeteries - Ramah, Cottonwood City, and Union Hill. I have hundreds of death certificates for those buried in these cemeteries as well as other cemeteries in Houston County (if I happen to stumble upon them as I am looking through the microfilm.) I am slowly getting them loaded onto their FindAGrave memorials. If I have a note on a memorial about a cause of death, that means I have the death certificate. Send me an "edit" and I will be happy to load the cert to the memorial right away so that you can have access to it.

Please use the Suggest a Correction link under the "Edit" tab to request corrections, updates, transfers, etc. I am always willing to transfer non-family members, but please use the Suggest a Correction link.

Doshie Wells Miller
Hello Judy,

The name you have as Doshie Wells Miller is incorrect. Doshie was my grandfather's sister. Doshie's correct name was:

Doshie Meadows Miller.

The correct names for Doshie's parents are:

Louis Thomas (Tommy) Meadows and Emma Wells Meadows.

Doshie and her parents are buried there at New Prospect.

If you could please make the corrections, I would appreicate it. Thanks, and thank you for the work you do.

Mary Alice Bennett #63448025
Hi, I left a correction for you regarding Mary Alice Bennett. She never married so Bennett is her last name. She is buried with her niece Bertha Boyd and that's where the confusion came from. I also left on the edit tab a transfer request. Thank you for establishing these family memorials! CindyLee
