|Olive Ow Emerson||Ow family|
Dear Joan, I see you are related to the Kesslers. I am too, but my interest right at the moment is the parents of Henry Ow born and died in Cambria and Indiana Counties respectively. His mother is listed as Christina Elizabeth Gilbert. In actuality he is the son of Johannus Gerhardus Hermanus Ow (Au) and Catherine Gilbert born 1778. There is another wife Catherine Elizabeth Faust. We are getting the children of these two unions mixed. Thanks Joan, if you would change it on the profile page of Henry Ow. Would appreciate it. Anna Christina Ow (Kessler) was half sister to Henry. Incase you didn't know Johann Gerhardus also had a 3rd wife and I am not sure, but may have had a 4th one. I have stories about this man. One is quite humorous. It is how the name got changed. Olive Hunt Ow (Emerson).

Glad to help--and glad you are one who adds stuff! I also found an obit for Bernice and sent it to Mayflower Pilgrim to add, and I know he will, if he hasn't already. BD

Would you please correct your above FG memorial number. Augustine Harvey 1864 - 1943 is not the son of John Harvey 1808 - 1880 (this is his grandfather) The correct is John Harvey 1838-1902 who married Agnes Hitch and they had Augustine 1864 - 1943 as shown in his obit published July 16, 1943 in the Daily Tribune(now the Tribune Democrat) at Johnstown, PA.
Additionally, would you please contact Burke Stroughton, another Find a Grave contributor who published Find a Grave 77750238 and apparently used the same incorrect father for Augustine Harvey.
Thank you, and I will watch for the corrections since the Harvey's are part of my family.

>Thank you for your correction on Robert's >Tombstone.
>I'm leaving it as Derrie, they misspelled names on >the census a lot, too.
Okay. That's so true on tombstones, census records and other primary records. Different spellings all over the place!
|diclouser||RE: James Nearhoof and Michael|
Hi Again! Annie, who created the memorials for Michael D & Elizabeth Nearhoof, made the corrections right away. So we can now link James and his siblings to their parents.
(father) Michael D Nearhoof # 155068674,
and (mother) Elizabeth # 155068744 at the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. Thanks again so much for your input.
|diclouser||EF Nearhoof & Michael Nearhoof|
I took a look at 155068674 (E F Nearhoof). The Gravestone clearly has the name Michael D Nearhoof engraved on it. So therefore the relationship to Elizabeth and James would be correct. I'll contact the contributor regarding it.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
|diclouser||EF Nearhoof vs Michael Nearhoof|
The marriage records for James Clark Nearhoof clearly reflects "Michael D Nearhoof and Elizabeth Nearhoof" as his parents. Also, the 1880 U.S. Census reflects the complete family of Michael D Nearhoof, which is the same as what his descendant (Pelter) submitted to our Nearhoof Family book, and Ancestry.com. Thus far, the only E F Nearhoof is the person on the findagrave sie which reflects that E F Nearhoof is a "calculated relationship". The documents reflected above is proof of the relationship between James Clark Nearhoof and Michael Nearhoof.
I saw the name Troxell married into others I am researching. I'll list it soon. Can't find it right now.
|diclouser||RE: James Nearhoof|
I'm sorry I can't explain what another person entered as James Clark Nearhoof's father. I Know for certain that Michael D Nearhoof is the father. I am a (Nearhoof) direct descendant and have the Nearhoof book that we all collaborated about 20 years ago (A cousin Ralph Nearhoof put it all together). It's a wonderful book, and as I go through it, I do additional research because a lot has been found through census records, vital records, etc since then. The great-great grandson of Michael agrees. He has pictures that were published in our book in 2004 of James, Esther, Almeda and Earl.
I'll see if I can find out who E.F.Nearhoof is! I didn't see any reference to E.F though on James memorial.
Thanks for the info, I'll have some fun this evening hopefully to discover who E.F. was. I'll let you know!
