 | RE: Elizabeth Peake Gordon Hyde Thank you for leaving those lovely pictures and look forward to seeing more when you add them. As for Ancestry, I too am a little angry at seeing some of my family photos on there, of course they were added by another distant cousin, and I stipulated that family members are allowed to have the photos, guess I need to also stipulate not to be posted to Ancestry. Funny feeling that one day Ancestry and Find a Grave will be one. I like your website for genealogy, and have given it many new found family your site. | | | JoAnne Peake Lotspeich
 | RE: Elizabeth Peake Gordon Hyde Suggestion: Why not just EDIT the name (take out Gordon) in the transferred one, make the proper links, then delete your original one. Keep the pictures, as I don't think you will be able to delete the existing pictures in that memorial. The picture you have of Elizabeth is chopped, and I love seeing the full dress. I'm still wondering how Ms. Wright obtained those photos from your files, hmmm. By deleting your memorial, is no problem, if you don't like the results you can always put it back in. I think the rules of Find A Grave say not to delete a transferred memorial, I see my name is gone (which is OK), and it appears as Ms. Wright transferred to you. Look forward to viewing it soon, and sorry I'm so late in getting back to you, end of year accounting gets in the way of FUN. | | | JoAnne Peake Lotspeich
 | RE: Elizabeth Peake Gordon Hyde Jim: Transfer completed and sorry it took so long to get back with you. I do hope you will keep/use the pictures on this memorial. Elizabeth is wearing such a beautiful dress with such dignity, sure would like to have visited with her, she could give me an ear full of family news/lol, also the picture of her and daughter together. I saved this memorial to my files just in case some of it is lost. I left the BIO as given by Ms. Wright. Hope you keep all the links to her family as well. I think by the rules of Find A Grave, we are not allowed delete a transfered memorial, so you may need to just merge yours into this one, and EDIT the name & Bio if necessary. Good hearing from you again, my daughter just visited London last Sept.,just for one day and hired a cabby for the day to tour the city. | | | JoAnne Peake Lotspeich
 | RE: Elizabeth Peake Gordon Hyde Jim: Nice hearing from you again & I see the problem, my memorial as you can see was transfered to me by Helen Wright.
I agree, these need to be merged, or one eliminated. This is your grandmother in your direct line. I will do what you feel is best in this case. I can transfer the memorial over to you, no problem with that, or I can delete.
Helen Wright furnished all the pictures, she is not related to this family, so I can't answer as to where she obtained the photos.
Let me know what you desire in this matter, I promise it will not bother me as long as I know she is LINKED to the other Peake's.
Guess we will never know where their father Henry is buried, I now think it is in Stephensberg/Stephens City, VA., Henry's last residence in VA.

 | Lt. Samuel Hyde (Hide) Really appreciate your time and effort with providing the headstone on Samuel Hyde b. 5 May 1665 Norwich, New London, Connecticut, USA, d. 6 Nov 1742 Lebanon, New London, Connecticut, USA. Was wondering if you would provide what is on the big standing headstone and the one in the ground, maybe chalk could be used or you write what is writen? Sheila | | | | [View all messages...] |
