One quick note: I am happy to transfer the management of pretty much any grave I've added to Find a Grave, other than my immediate family. Please feel welcome to ask!|
Genealogy interests have been passed down to me from my great-grandfather and grandfather, who kept a family scrapbook of newspaper articles, obituaries, and events in the family along with some photos from the late 1800s forward. My mother then took over the scrapbook and passed it to me. The Internet has been a huge boon to all of us looking for our ancestors. Yet there is nothing like viewing a death certificate to go back a generation, when parents' names are recorded. Likewise, the photo of gravestones can break through genealogy blocks and have for me several times.
I make charts for my friends and family and have been intrigued by the unique view of history they portray. I've researched about 80 family lines so far and love doing it. The form I use is unique, as my friends have asked to see their direct ancestors all on a continuous sheet. One French-Canadian line is 8' wide. It required a lot of deep breaths on my part, when I was feeling overwhelmed.
I feel as though we take back our family members when we discover the names of those who preceded us. These connections are precious. I have used the National Geographic's Genographic Project to understand where my earliest ancestors went, which left me at the point in time of 5,500 years ago.
To me the Genographic Project and genealogy research show that we are all cousins of some level to every human on the planet and that we are each utterly unique individuals.
In short, I love this stuff!

I see that you have recently set up several memorials in Point of Woods Cemetery. Some of them, especially the Darts, I had previously set up in the Champion Cemetery in Old Lyme. There is a Champion No. 1 Cemetery and a Champion No. 2 Cemetery listed in the Hale Collection and the Old Lyme Historical website. The Hale Collection printout I have for the Darts is Champion Cemetery No. 1. Findagrave had only one Champion Cemetery when I added the records and I see that they now added an alternative name to it of Black Hall Schoolhouse. I am not aware if Point of Woods is an alternative name for Champion Cemetery No. 1 or just near it. Godfrey Memorial Library has it as Champion Cemetery No. 1 also. I can contact the Town Hall to see if they are 2 cemeteries or 2 different names for the same cemetery. You can see my memorials under kewilson. I will get back to you.

Thank you very much for adding those photos for the Northrops. I work with their daughter here in Cedar Rapids. Thanks for all you do on findagrave.com
|Crys Lacy||RE: Craig|
You are very welcome! Although I have not found a connection between the Craig family and my family lines, I am a member of the Craig Hill Cemetery Association and would love to find families for everyone buried there. They are more than just a name on a stone!
Thanks for looking! LG

|Ruth-Ellen Burack Flanagan||Albert H Cohen|
Are you connected to the same search that Salvatore Randazzo is doing for the Albert H. Cohen? He too sent me a message via email. I do not know Albert's family but will see if anyone knows him or his family and will get back to you. Can you email me with a reponse.

Ms Cullen . . . about a week ago I got mail from a Find A Grave memorialist about Joseph Hills, a 7th GG for me. She provided some additional information which led me to another previously created memorial (17317343). The difference from 'Hill' to 'Hills' is the reason for duplication.
I have added some information to my memorial for 'Joseph Hills' and in doing so given you credit for the inscription information.
Would you consider allowing me to transfer two of your photos shown?
My memorial for Joseph is 54916146.
Thanks for your consideration.

There are already photos on their memorials, but they're all linked together and the specific memorial numbers are in my first message.
