I encourage you to join the Mayflower Society if you can prove through documentation that you are BLOOD related to Wm Bradford. I've done it. I'm related to TWO original Mayflower pilgrims.

RE: Hi KC,
You are more than welcome. I do so enjoy the "dig" of genealogy. Linking that research with FindAGrave, I believe, helps others as well. Blessings - KC

RE: Hello Maggie O
That might help folks who are trying to find her, I have a few of my kin who were buried under "nicknames" makes its a little hard to find them. You are welcome, I am distantly related to the folks I sent you information on :)

you've done a lot of work, thank you!

RE: Thank you.
My name is Jacqueline Shibley Bailey. I am married to Leon Dingman Sr.'s and Vivian J. Bailey Dingman's son Mark Duane Dingman Bailey. I do not have many pictures of the two of them. Just what was recently sent to me by Mark's sister, Neesha Lynn Dingman Zeidner. She was the first child of Leon and Vivian. Mark was not raised as a Dingman, he was adopted by Vivian's brother Orville D. Bailey, Jr. and Pamela Jean Griffin Bailey. He was given directly to them when he was three days old. Vivian never raised him. He was told it was because she was "sick".

Leon had these two children with Vivian, but he also has several other children by different women. Valeen Dingman, lives in Palatine Bridge, Shane Dingman, lives in Canajoharie, and Timothy Dingman, lives in Fonda. There mother was Diane Hogan. He has a son Daniel Dingman, lives in Amsterdam. I am not sure who his mother is or was. He has a son Leon Dingman Jr., currently residing in jail from what I understand. Then he adopted, Juanita Dingman Flewelling, who is Leon Jr.'s sister.

As to Vivian's death, she died as the result of carbon monoxide poisoning. She was in a vehicle with her lover, Ed "Punky" Cool in the throws of passion in the middle of winter. They were parked up against a snowbank as the story goes and the carbon monoxide filled the car, causing them to die. They were found in an extremely intimate position. I guess at this time, Vivian and Leon were not together, but I am not sure. As for Leon Sr., I was told he died alone from a heart attack and complications from diabetes. He was in his place for several days before anyone found him.

Barbara Haines
RE: Hi Barbara,
Okey Dokey, I did the following search:

"William Henry Dingman" Canajoharie

Here's what I got in order of appearance:

1. Your F/G Memorial listing for him
2. Your inquiry to Rootsweb looking for info about him
3. This website:

While the William Henry Dingman listed here isn't yours, he is very likely his son. More importantly, it offers a clue that there was a newspaper (The Radii) in Canajoharie, and that the local library has a family file on the Dingmans which may contain information about the William H. M. Dingman you're looking for.

By expanding the search further (i.e., "William Dingman" Canajoharie), it brought me the book History of Montgomery County" on Google Books, which lists a William Dingman sas a private in Co. F, 123rd NY Regiment during the Civil War.

One more expansion ("Dingman" Canajoharie), brought me a newspaper article on Google News Archive from the Schenectady Gazette of 11 Dec 1962 announcing the resignation of Alton R. Dingman, Canajoharie native, from Sheriff, to become Chief of Police for his hometown:,1647043

I didn't go past the first page on results on any of my searches, so there may be more out there.
