|I was born in Greenport, L. I., New York and grew up in Riverhead, N.Y. I lived 57 years in the Riverhead - Flanders area. I retired and moved to Dover, De. About a year ago I learned of Find-A-Grave. I think it is a great idea. I will help as much as I can to make this site useful to others. |
I have been doing my genealogy for over 20 years. I have traced my family history to Virginia. Mainly Powhatan, Cumberland, and Amelia Counties. The family names that I'm working on are Brunskill, Jackson, James, Cooper, Hatcher, and Watkins.
I'm interested in cemeteries on Eastern Long Island, N.Y., Virginia, and now Maryland and Delaware.
Now, anytime I travel I will visit cemeteries and record some tombstones. I'm not related to most of the entries I have made. I hope the information I provide is of help and value to others. If you are related to anyone I have listed, I will gladly transfer the page to you. If I have made any errors of facts on any of my postings, please let me know in order that I may correct it.
Should you email me, please put "Find a Grave" in the subject line.

Hello. You have posted a photo for Mr. Kern on the memorial I created for him. This photo was taken off the funeral home website. You may not be aware that lifting photos from other websites is prohibited by Find A Grave rules, so I ask that you please remove it.

|Debora Powell||find a grave|
My name is Debora Latimore,Powell, I don't know if you remember me, but I grew up in Riverhead, NY also. My parents are David and Emma Latimore, we lived on Old Quogue Rd in Riverhead. I'sm writing you to see if you can help me find a grave. My gteat grandfather was Luther Raymond Shores. When I ran across the find a grave site, I was very impressed with all of the information it has to offer. I entered several names and was able to find lots of family and friends, that have passed on. I was not able to find my grandfather,Luther Raymond Shores, which I found odd because he passed in 1996, but I was able to find his wife who passed in 1967, Emma Shores. If you look, you can see I have added his name,to find a grave, but I will need to make some changes because I now live in Ga, and I lost everything to a fire in Riverhead before I moved, So I can't remember the exact day he passed. Seay memorial, took care of the arrangements. If you can find any info, for me and maybe a picture of him, the one used on the obituary, if it's possiable to do that, I would be very grateful if you would add any and all information to his memorial. you can find.
Thank you so much for your time
Debora Latimore Powell
