Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy family searching and helping others with this same passion. I've spent several hours walking around many cemeteries in the Franklin area. I've seen old markers walking thru cemeteries and decided to start taking pictures of them, before they fell over or became illegible.

Ithiel B. Snyder
Ithiel B. Snyder is spelled with an I in front. You have It spelled Thiel. His father was my gg grandfather, Daniel Sansbury Snyder who's also in Find A Grave, buried in Rimersburg Cemetery. You should connect them.

RE: Careless
thanks so much - I couldn't make it out and hoping with someone more familiar to the cemeteries might come up with a spelling!

Can you help?
I have an indecipherable PA death certificate - can you take a look and see if you can figure out which cemetery it might be? I'm sure it's in Venango County. See memorial #163757134. Appreciate any help you can give.

William John Jones #55331578
Cindy, I have a William John Jones as a very distant relative, but have determined that this Wm John Jones is not him. I did happen to find a death certificate for this individual and it listed his father as Warren Jones and his mother as Margaret Baker. I was wondering if there is a way you could add their names somehow; although I find no memorial for either of them listed at this cemetery. It might help someone else who is looking for a William John Jones.
Thankx - Barb

RE: Wagner's
Thanks for the info and the offer Cindy. Not sure where he was married so don't bother checking for me, but thanks again for the offer!

RE: Wagner's
Hello Cindy,

Thanks for the note and for creating all these memorials! I am connected but not directly. Mary Dunn Wagner was my maternal Grandmother's (Mary Dunn Healy's)Aunt, making all her children her first cousins who she grew up with in Oil City, PA, until her father (John Matthew Dunn) was transferred from Oil City to Bradford, PA in 1907 by the Pennsy Railroad. This Dunn family spent the rest of their lives there, but visited Venango Co. often through the years. I guess that makes me a Great-Great Nephew? I agree with the careful source checkout on information and dates. I think they just guessed also, when talking to the Census taker or the Undertaker making those of us researching go crazy decades later! :) I don't ask for changes lightly unless I'm 95% sure with more than one source. Who can be 100% with all the conflicts we run into? If you want to transfer ownership, I'd be happy to manage these memorials, but I'll leave that decision up to you. I do have a question, though. Was Sunset Memorial Park once referred to, or still referred to, as "The New St. Joseph's Cemetery" by the locals?

Best Regards,

Marie Speer Ford
Marie Ford's number is 120020934.

Funny story - they often called her Tenny (her first name was Tennessee) when little, but when she graduated high school and they called out her whole name, everyone laughed. She dropped the Tennessee then and there, and went by Marie the rest of her life!

Thank you for transferring my grandparents to me.

RE: J C Ford
That would be wonderful. Tennessee Marie Speer Ford, buried with JC Ford, is my grandmother. I will need to look up her F_A_G number.

RE: Farr's
You are very welcome. Some of my husband's family is buried there as well, the Burdick and Crandall families. Again you are very welcome.

RE: Heckathorne's
Hi Cindy,
The other night when I was looking for my Ray Heckathorn, I swear that there were 2 at Sunset Hill with the same birth and death dates. I thought I'd given you one of the Find A Grave memorial numbers in message of the 2nd Ray. Looking at the cemetery site now, I don't see what I saw the other night. Don't know what was going on the other night...was working from my iPad which sometimes seems kinda quirky. Sorry for the confusion!
