Most of my work is from "mowing the rows" in our local cemeteries or in those that are special to me when I get a chance to visit. I try to be very thorough in what I do post to this site. My favorite part |
of contributing to Find A Grave is walking the cemeteries and taking photos. ACCURATE cemetery documentation is very important, and this is why I do what I do.
I love to research and link families, and add biographical information - please use the Edit tab and send me any information you would like to have added, and I will add based on the rules for bios set in the Find A Grave FAQ's. I transfer only within the four-generation Find-A-Grave guidelines.
PLEASE carefully check the cemetery in which you want to list a memorial (it doesn't hurt to quickly check the county too) BEFORE you list it, as one may already exist for that person. Duplicate memorials for the same person, ("Dupes"), whether accidental or intentional, are not allowed by F-A-G. Duplicates erode the quality of this site and are problematic for many reasons. I will send you a friendly SAC if I see one.
It is very sad that quite a few contributors continue to misuse this site and post entries as permanent BURIAL UNKNOWN, both recent deaths and those 100 years ago or more.
This is Find A GRAVE, not a memorial site for generations of folks who have passed on and we do not know where they are buried, or for certain what happened to their remains.
I do not add entries for those with unknown dispositions (Burial Unknown) to Find A Grave.
I also will not link my managed memorials to those without proper dispositions. Please do not link any BURIAL UNKNOWN entries to the memorials I manage; I will request the links to be removed if I become aware they have been linked.
PLEASE realize this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE, not a place for you to build your family tree :) If you do not know where the person was buried, or the final disposition of the remains, you should not be listing the person on FIND A GRAVE.
The most recent FAQ's regarding the purpose of this site:
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record
and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration
of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the
main mission,then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can
leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.
Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family,
friends, and ‘famous' individuals.
Find A Grave is definitely a genealogical RESOURCE, but not a genealogical SITE..... There's a difference :)

Subject: Re: Find A Grave Correction: Dorcas Buckner
Sorry, I don't have another picture. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that weed growing up there when I took the picture. I am up that way from time to time. I'll try to take another next time I am there.

Will let you know this person. Thanks so much for your help, it is greatly appreciated.
|Fran Bundy||Ruby Elrod Smith|
I believe you were correct on her date of birth.
She was not on a census until after 1900, so that was my error. I have corrected that date and added her dod, too.
Thank you, Karyn.
|Fran Bundy||Elrod Family|
Thank you for the transfer and the additional information on her sister, Ruby. You do great work and are very generous of your time and efforts, too!
Thanks for letting me know.Funeral Home records say she is in the Pine Knot one. But as my photo shoes she isn't. Appreciate it.

|pdixon74||RE: Buckner Family Line|
Thank you, I need lots of help with Buckner family line.
I thought I had found the correct line but it was a mix up with the names. ( Ponder-Ramsey-Buckner)
Nancy Delitha Ponder Buckner (76729587). Her husband is listed as Allen Buckner.This can not be the correct Nancy.
1900 census Madison County N.C.-
Allen Buckner (70) born 10-1829
Nancy Buckner (61) born 4-1839
John Buckner (14) born 2-1883 grandson ?
I believe this is the Buckners that I am looking for. Time for me to slow down and wait for much needed help.

|pdixon74||Buckner Family Line|
Hi, I am trying to find the children of Thomas Ramsey (113522771) and Elizabeth Ponder Ramsey (60222385). I would like to have the parents and the correct children linked together. This is about their daughter Nancy Ramsey Buckner.
Nancy was born about 1838 in Madison County North Carolina.
1st marriage was to Jake Buckner. They had one son, William Nelson Buckner(1858 to 1884).
2nd marriage to Allen Buckner, born about 1827 died about 1930.
This information is from the Madison County Genealogical Society in Madison County North Carolina.
I can not find any other information about this Buckner family. I would like to find out their history.
If Nancy can not be linked ( no grave ) to her parents its ok. I still want to find her family.
What is the correct Buckner line?

Hey Karyn, I am the great grandson of Sylvester Morris Orr, he is in West View Cemetery. I would like to link his father and mother to his page. If you could allow me to do that it would be great. Thanks :)
