Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Contributor Connie posted this. I thought it was such a great idea I posted it to my page! Thanks, Connie!

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

===============================

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to Ancestry.com or any other website or personal webpages.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

RE: 129791569, Mary Bowes
In checking the cemetery records, I'm not showing a grave for Mary Bowes, let alone William Bowes. The closest I found was a stone that says "May Bowers" with no dates (but it's a Civil War era stone, so it's likely it's her). The Nationwide Gravesite Locator shows Mary Bowes, so there must be a record somewhere!

RE: Rawleigh Hazen Ralls, III
You are correct - I apologize. I submitted this edit request for the wrong record. It was supposed be an edit request to remove the III from his father's record (which has been done). Again, sorry.

Button & Palmer
Also I have found here (http://records.ancestry.com/john_button_records.ashx?pid=44247672) that john was married twice, to Betsy Palmer then Anna Palmer.

RE: Betsey Palmer Button
this is where it doesn't make sense right? Because if Betsy Palmer was 29 years 2 months and 10 day old when she died, this would of made her birth Feb. 30,1810 and even it is says 1829 year of death (or that is what it looks like to me on the stone, then there is no way she could be Albert Button's mother because Albert was born in 1807. On LDS it states her birth as 1770 in Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island. John her husband was born in 1756. I have searched (after seeing on Find A Grave her parents birth dates because that states her parents were born after her, if born in 1770 but yet her child Albert born before her. This is my ancestors as it is probably yours. I talked to my niece Debbie Button Holmes last night and she is searching too, see if we can see why these dates are so off.

Interesting, because both the cemetery records and his obituary list him as a Junior!

Cause of death Pneumonia contracted in route from New York to Missouri. He was buried in Missouri on the same day. I will add a connection to the memorial at the other cemetery. I had this happen to another Shunk family member who died and was buried in Michigan and the spouse moved to California and put a tombstone of the spouse in a California cemetery. The body was never moved.

Death certificate says he died in Missouri and was buried in Columbia Cemetery. The Father most likely had a tombstone at the Military Academy. Please look a death certificate. I will call the cemetery tomorrow.

Bear stones
You're welcome for the photos of the stones. I took photos of all the other stones as well and hope to be putting them up soon. I wish I could have gotten better photos but the stones were moved and stuck in concrete and very close together.

RE: Matisse
I'm so glad you brought this to my attention. When I took the photograph, it passed through my mind that this person shared the same name as a famous painter, but that's as far as the thought went. After you pointed out that it was the the painter, I contacted the cemetery superintendent. He informed me that the engraving is not a centograph, it is a stylistic sample that the stone carver users to inform patrons of the various options. It certainly fooled me!
