Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've discovered several forgotten graves and small family cemeteries over the years, while involved in my work or hunting, and wanted to list them on Find A Grave. Many of the people buried in these graves are some of the earliest settlers in north Louisiana and deserve our respect and admiration. I'll do my best to see that they are not forgotten.

Thrifts
Hi,
I am Toni Holstien and I noticed you have taken over the Thrift line on find a Grave. Gertrude Pardue Thrift doesn't have her DOD. It is January 26, 2009. Thought you may want to enter it.My great grandfather was Judge John Henry Thrift.

Thanks!

RE: Burr Sells Watters (1301663)
Sorry, I have no idea what happened to him. I didn't even add this memorial - it was transferred to me without my asking when I asked the maintainer to link to his father (whose memorial I did photograph and add here). I do a news search in Google for that time frame and nothing shows. I see a Burr S. Watters IV wrote a paper for the University of North Florida - I assume it's the same as this Burr Watters on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/burr-watters/1/373/b33. Maybe you can try to contact him there.

The Funeral home info is misleading.

RE: Thomas Youngblood
I'd be happy to. I'm new to this, though. Could you tell me how to do that?

Re: Christan
Sounds good! Christan's great-grandfather, Claude Vail, was my mother's first cousin. I really enjoy going to both of those cemeteries. I have grandparents in West and great-grandparents in East.

Re: Christan
You're most welcome! East and West Mt. Olive is where dozens of my ancestors, aunts, uncles and cousins are buried. They are Vail, Coleman, Lewter, Asken, etc.

Christan is buried next to her great-grandparents, Claude and Polly Vail (said that earlier, I think!) I think they are buried near the cyclone fence on the right side as you drive up to the gate. It has been a while since I was out there - 6 yrs. to be exact!
