Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a Son of the South (hometown in northeastern Florida; college educated in southwestern Missouri), career soldier (retired as a LTC in 2008 with over 29 years, and a subsequent Retiree Recall put me over 31) who was originally trained in the USMCR (M Company (-), 3/24 Marines, 4th MAR DIV, Semper Fi!) with combat in OPN Urgent Fury (Grenada), El Salvadore, OPN Desert Storm (Persian Gulf War), OPN Joint Guard (Bosnia), OPN Enduring Freedom (Global War on Terror), & OPN Iraqi Freedom (Global War on Terror/ Global Contingency Opn - whatever "politically correct" term the liberals invent for it in the next 4 years; still the same fight, same enemy). I also served in OPN Noble Eagle (Global War on Terror/ USA Homeland defense), OPN Volcano (disaster relief, Armero, Columbia), and USA disaster relief during Hurricanes Hugo, Opal, Frances, and TS Alberto in Florida. I have been married since 1989 and have 1 son. I am also a careerist with the Florida Department of Corrections and have worked criminal justice since 1986. In my youth, I attained Eagle Scout with the BSA and was a Triple Letterman (football/ wrestling/ track) in High School with my greatest achievement in athletics being amateur boxing (72-3, 55 KOs). I also served 2 years with the FFA Chapter during high school. Thanks to all of you who have visited and left flowers/ comments on my memorials, and especially those who have sponsored them.

Many Thanks Sir.....
Just want to thank you again for 'looking after' my grandfather's memorial page. Sgt. Benjamin H. Franklin was, like yourself, a Son of the South, and a true American. Your regular notes on his page are very much appreciated by his family.

~MEMORIAL DAY~
As we gaze across the rows of crosses, We think of the young lives and all of their losses. To never see the sun rise once more, Their hearts are like a closed door. The flags were raised., and the bugles played. The ever stillness, of the families that are motionless. The gratitude of a nation, gives such a sensation. Everyone with nothing to say, On Memorial Day.

Yes, My Dad Told me it was Armed Forces Day
today,
and
he was a bit sad that it's not in the local newspaper.

I wonder if Obama will speak on it?

Again, Thank You Rick for all you do.

Thank You Rick.

I've been thinking of you today, about "Armed Forces Day".

I thought it was today?

THANK YOU FOR ALLLL OF YOUR INCREDIBLE SERVICE TO OUR GREAT COUNTRY.

I wish we would get out of "over there".
Another American Military Killing yesterday.

Now, the Radicals seem to be home-grown!

Hugs, Your Friend, Darlene
