IF YOU NEED FAMILY LINKS MADE, PUT YOUR REQUEST HERE. MY EMAIL ACCOUNT HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING SOME ISSUES. THANKS
I have often complained to FAG regarding memorials turned to crap due to those who have little skill with doing photos. If they post em up as if they were being posted on their own memorials....MAYBE they wouldn't be so crappy. Too often I see MANY of the memorials I created suddenly sprout terrible photos. Examples are # 121617731,memorial#96333005,#73021427,#73021907,#88159116,#81956750, #80664761 & #87999963. I did go back and put what I felt was a good photo or two on em.
Unfortunately, some people go out & shoot a whole cemetery in an afternoon. Once they post their work....it shows they are out for numbers and the memorial be damned.
If I have added a family member or a good friend, I am happy to transfer memorials. I am not bothered by F.A.G. guidelines in transfers. I am concerned about getting family members "back together." I DO transfer distant relatives since they SHOULD be with family.
I am also happy to transfer memorials of close friends as well as family.
PLEASE DON'T "TRASH UP" MEMORIALS I CREATED WITH POORLY SHOT PHOTOS!
If you are contributing photos to any memorials I have added to Findagrave, please put on good QUALITY photos, not badly cropped or off center ones I have seen WAAAYYYY too often!
If I have photos to upgrade otherwise "SUBSTANDARD" photos on any memorials I will be sure to add them.
REMEMBER, these sites are in memory of someones' ancestors. If you place a photo on a memorial, make it good enough that you would be happy with it on your own.
All men die.........not all men really live.
West Virginia Records: Birth, Death & Marriage
I am looking for Charles & Flo Liddington. Flo died in 1972. Charlie was alive in 1974. They were my mothers' mother & step-father.
I believe they lived modestly within a half hour of Danville, PA.
Also, I am searching for any info regarding the roster for the 33rdBattalion of the Maryland Militia. An ancestor I am searching for, Thomas Mock, who served with this unit in New Jersey in 1777 under George Washington. He had a wife names Sarah and parents were George & Catherine Mock. They were from "SUPPOSEDLY" living between Sharpsburg and Middletown, Washington County, MD.

|Condra Crabtree||Tivis Rhoton of Scott Co., VA|
Hello, my name is Condra Sue (Susie) Crabtree. My mother is Rebecca Ellen Rhoten Crabtree. Her father was Tivis D. Rhoten b. 5/4/1880, Claiborne Co., TN, died 11/4/1958 at Lee General Hospital, Pennington Gap, VA. Tivis is buried in Pattonsville, VA. I will be posting a photo of his grave soon. Tivis had a sister, Laura J. RHOTON, born MAY 1885 in Scott Co., VA. Married 26 MAR 1904 in Scott Co., VA, to Isaac Floyd RHOTON (born AUG 1879 in Scott Co., VA), her first cousin. If I am right and have followed the lineage correctly, we are related through Tivis and Laura. My mother is still living and talks about writing letters to Laura after she and my Dad married in 1958. She told me that Tivis went to Baltimore with Laura and Isaac to find work (road work?). Tivis came back to Scott County and married (2nd marriage) my grandmother, Lillie A. Ramey Rhoten Litton 12/23/1915 d. 4/14/2008. I would love to contact my relatives in MD. If we are related, I would love to hear from you. My email is email@example.com . I plan on talking to my mother and writing down all the stories she remembers about Tivis and his family. There may not be a lot because Tivis was approximately 35 years older than my grandmother. There were two older sister from Tivis' first marriage and I am looking for their children also. My mother may have photos of Tivis and Laura and I plan on organizing those. Would love to share and exchange if possible. Again, if I am right and we are related in any way, I would love to hear from you.

Would you mind transferring this memorial to me so I can connect her to her parents? She is a cousin a couple of times removed!
PS...thank you SO much for all of the other Shifler
memorials that you have transferred to me. I have added more information and connected them as a family! I appreciate all of the time and effort you put into helping to build up Findagrave and help others!

Thanks so much for photographing the Bentz for me. It means so much to have the photograph of their gravestones. I don't have any pictures of them personally, so it's nice to have some link to them.

Damon has now deleted all of his entries, his bio, and his messages. He is down to the 9 people who were transferred to him. I think he had added about 858 people. One of the people he stole pictures from contacted a friend at Find a Grave who issued a warning. Then the entries started disappearing.

|Luana Dawn Alger||Re: Reffina Catherine Pettit-Alger|
Thank you so much for adding Reffina's headstone... I wish I knew why her name appeared as Catherine, rather than Reffina, in her headstone. It looks like her daughter, Carrie, was also buried with her... As far as that other memorial, do you happen to know the protocol when a name appears incorrectly on a memorial but matches the headstone? I have been a member for quite a while and only have seen this once before... I do know that people will be looking for Reffina Catherine Pettit-Alger and not Catherine Reffina Pettit-Alger, because that was not her name outside of appearing on her headstone as such. The dates of birth and death are also incorrect on that other memorial, so I am in a quandary. :-/

thanks Ken. I did not added them. but I did let BJ know. she was the one who added them. thanks Base
|Luana Dawn Alger||Re: Reffina Catherine Pettit-Alger|
I submitted a photo request for my great grand aunt, Reffina Catherine Pettit-Alger's marker at Norborne Cemetery in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia... and you reported that you walked the entire cemetery and could not find it... Well, I did some checking and discovered that her name appears as Catherine R. Alger with a birth year of 1842 on her marker, even though she was actually born in 1849. She passed away in 1922.. I am hoping this can help you. I left the request in tact so you can re-use the original request to submit the photo should u locate it. If you'd rather not or can not submit the photo of the marker for whatever reason, please let me know.
Thank you for all you do!
- Luana Dawn Alger
