RE: Joe Dominici #102993831
Hi Tina - I thought there was a tie in between my Dominici tree and Martha (Ruse) Lopez, but now I think there's a spelling discrepancy that means there isn't. Mine are spelled Dominici (German derivation) and I think the correct spelling in your tree is Domenici (Italian derivation). It's such a unique name that I was sure there was a connection, especially since I have a Joseph too and close by in Tuolumne County, but it seems not.

I don't know how closely related you are to Martha Ruse, but now that her first husband is linked, maybe someone in your family knows something about Mr. Lopez, at least a first name that you can mention in the BIO section. Always nice to try to at least get the names, then someone else might have more information to give you. Well, back to editing census reports while watching crazy people in the Olympics! Good luck with your research ~ Nancy

Not silly at all--I feel the same way. Hope she has a stone.

I don't know if she has a stone or not--you should probably request a photo.

The Fairlawn cemetery register is online, and sometimes I go through it and add memorials for those who may not have had an obit in the paper or perhaps no stone--babies and people of color, mostly. It just happened that I added little Margaret's and I am so glad I did--I hate it when the little ones are not joined to their family. See Margaret's entry here:

RE: Mary Byers Romberger
Thanks for your note. I have entered a few hundred Rombergers on the site, and flowered many more. With Mary - Waaaay back I had a common ancestor with her Romberger husband. Nearly all the Rombegers in the US have the same common immigrant ancestor who arrived here in 1753. Many of the descendants ended up living in Dauphin County, PA.

I took a little look at Mary and her hubby and without knowing for sure, my best guess is that her hubby's family way back was part of a wave of people who left Dauphin County to migrate out west, many to Kansas, many of them initially in the Abeline/Dickinson area, but some went to other areas as well. (Trivia - Ike Eisenhower's ancestors were part of the same trend and are related to the Rombergers.)

Much of our family association family tree is online. Our family historian, a terrific gent named Bob Averell, maintains it on Rootsweb. I would encourage you to open a dialogue with him, not only so he can give you whatever other info he may have offline, but also so you might share with him what you have found too. (For example, Bob does not have her brother you refer to on here.) Bob's email addy may be found on Rootsweb. To make your orientation easier, I will give you a link to the page where Mary is on our tree right here. I don't use my name publicly on FindAGrave, but if you tell him someone from the site sent you, he will instantly know who you mean, promise. I had him go thru my entire line on FindAGrave so he'd get it on the tree :-) Take good care, and feel free to let me know how things work out- and have a great weekend too.
