We are David & Effie. We were born and raised in upstate South Carolina. I found Find A Grave in 2009 and now David has joined me in a search for our "lost" family members. We sincerely hope that along the way our contributions to this site will help others find theirs. |
We wish to thank those who have made memorials for our family members and those who have transfered management of them to us. We especially want to thank those who have made the corrections we requested, as correct and complete data is the key to accomplishing our goals.
Our primary sources of information for our memorials, other than direct knowledge of burial, are grave marker photos and obituaries. We use these sources as backup for our entries, as we DO NOT make any without proof of burial location.
Our motto is... to err is human, and to correct is necessary. Please contact us if you find an error on our memorials or if you have missing information that we can add to make an appealing and honorable memorial. We will gladly correct any errors on our entries, make additions, add links or transfer memorials if they are not related to us. (please use the EDIT tab and make a suggestion option on the memorial for any request.)
We understand that a photo says more than a thousand words, and is a very important part of family research. It is our pleasure to offer our photos for personal genealogical purposes. You may re-post on Find A Grave if you will have the courtesy to give us credit in the caption of the photo. Otherwise, DO NOT RE-POST!
Everyone is welcome to visit and leave a flower for our immediate family members listed below or any of our memorials and once again, we wish to thank all of our Find A Grave friends who have done a wonderful job in helping preserve our heritage and making this a wonderful site.

I would like for you to contact me about my sister's memorial on Find A Grave. I appreciate that you took the initiative to generate her history but there were mistakes made in the obituary card that you used to obtain her information. This was unfortunate, but it is causing problems with relatives who are using Find A Grave as a source of information when generating family histories especially on ancestry.com. As her brother, I would like to correct these issues as soon as possible. You can contact me by email on email@example.com and I will send you an updated version of an accurate obituary card.

I would like to personally thank you for your work with Find A Grave. It is no longer possible for me to visit cemeteries. When I started my genealogy journey back in the80's I frequented many cemeteries. Now thanks to you and other Find A Grave friends I can visit them that way. May God richly bless you for helping others like me. It means so very much to be able to visit the graves of our extended families. I am still working hard on my family genealogy on Ancestry and Family TreeMaker and thank you for allowing me to get copies of my extended family markers.
Eleanor Morrison Lawson
PS May you be able to keep helping others through your work with Find A Grave for many years to come. It is truly a blessing to so many people.

David and Effie, I am the niece of Vernon Kimbrell. Is is possible you could add my email to your family tree so I might look at it and try to put together these pieces of my puzzle relating to the Kimbrell side of my family. thanks so much.
