Born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Lived most of my life there. Then relocated, first to Decatur, IL and then to Hillsboro, IL. |
Have been involved in genealogy for many years. I guess I was following in my grandfather's footsteps. Now that I am retired it has become my passion.

|John Paul Baremore||Fragments at Hopewell.|
Going over the fragments of gravestones you photographed at Hopewell in Irving. Thank you for being so comprehensive!
|Carol Frey||RE: Ruth Rice Collins|
It might be nice to include her original name even though she was adopted just so people know where she came from & she really was a Frederick until she was adopted,so it might be nice to actually include her former name at least in Parentheses.

Hi - I would be happy to get your photo at Fairmount-Willow Hills Cemetery if you can call for his grave location - there are well over 100 pending requests right now and I'm trying to get the oldest ones done first. Thanks so much...

|Ann||Collins family of Franklin Co., KY|
James Thomas Collins and Mary Ann Bourne had son, Henry Harrison Collins.
I've been researching Henry Harrison Collins as my interest lies in his wife Eliabeth Boone Bledsoe.
I note that Henry Harrison Collins was born July 5, 1812 in Franklin Co., KY and just today came across a really sticky court mess in Chicot Co., Arkansas taken up by the Supreme Court November Term 1877 noting that Henry H. Collins, of said county (Chicot Co., Arkansas) died "in the early part of the year 1862 and left a will-anyway-his widow Elizabeth remarried twice more (Owen L. Richardson "in the "latter part of the year 1863", that he died in 1872 and then Elizabeth interrmarried with the defendant, James H. Warner", who died Dec 20, 1900.
I don't know where Henry Harrison Collins is buried however, one would assume Arkansas but I have found no information.

Thank you for your care in maintaining Velma's memorial. She was transferred to another more closely related to her than me. :)

DEATH: The Correctionville News, 4 March 1937, page 1: Time dealt kindly with Joseph Pence and had he lived a few more months he would have attained the century mark. He was a squatter on railroad land following the building of the first railroads through this community. The men who made history in the early days are fast passing beyond the portals. Joseph Wesley Pence was born in Louisville, Kentucky, August 11, 1837, and departed from this life February 27, 1937, at the age of 99 years, 6 months and 16 days. When four years of age he moved with his parents to Cass Co., Illinois, where he grew to manhood and taught in the public schools. In 1859 he was united in wedlock to Margaret Eator. They lived in Illinois for twelve years then came to Iowa. To this union were born nine children. His wife and three daughters preceded him in death. Those left to mourn his departure are: Jiles (sic) Pence of Howard, South Dakota, Thomas Pence of Rapid City, South Dakota, C.J. Pence and E.K. Pence of Sioux City, William Pence of Gettysburg, South Dakota, and one daughter, Mrs. T.R. Thom of Correctionville, 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church for 50 years. Funeral services were held at 12 o'clock noon Tuesday at a funeral home in Merrill, Iowa, and interment was made in the Rock Branch Cemetery.
