Bio Photo My Find-a-Grave activity is only moderately curtailed by that essential 'nuisance' of "having to earn a living". I generally respond to queries, SACs and requests as soon as I can get a round tuit. Sincere apologies for all delays, and thank you for your patience. =]) Beth

A proud Canadian, I now live in the beautiful Province of British Columbia :D Locations of interest near my former home in Ontario include all of Simcoe County (which is about an hour north of Toronto), plus Ancaster (west Hamilton) and the (former) County of Wentworth, which are due west of Toronto.

Copyright courtesy requested! If you wish to use a photo that I have uploaded to a memorial here on Find-a-Grave, and post it to another website 'as yours', KINDLY ASK ME FIRST. In general, I don't mind if anyone uses my photos for their personal records, and I would hope my name would be included for the source file. But please, if you're going to post them to a FEE-BASED/SUBSCRIPTION website (including Ancestry, which as we all know ultimately profits from _everything_ contributed to their site), it would be nice if credit to the photographer (me) could be given within the posting. I don't know if other sites make this possible, but something such as: "Photograph taken by OhSunnyOne, Ancaster, Ont" would be appreciated.
Thank you for this consideration.

"If we don't grab this data, it's gone. Stones are face down, fallen over. Some that we can read now, we won't be able to read later. Counties just don't have the resources to restore every cemetery." --

Visitor: What a nice town. Have you lived here all your life?
Old Lady: Nope. Not yet.

Cecil Brownell Taylor
Wondering if you have any connections to Cecil Brown Taylor who was a relative of mine?

Cricklow/Crichlow, Thomas - Ross Bay Cemetery
There is no marker on his grave so the puzzle about the spelling of his surname remains unsolved. We note that in both the 1881 & 1891 Census, his surname is spelled 'Crichlow' (as is his death registration) , while in the 1860 Victoria City Directory & this cemetery index, his surname is spelled 'Cricklow'. We suggest you submit edits to correct the spelling of his surname and to add his place of birth.

William Dummer Powell Jarvis
I ran the Flanders Fields marathon 5 years ago. For an extra charity donation, runners are given the name of, and information about, an athlete who died in WW1. I was given William Dummer Powell Jarvis to think about while I ran. This year my partner, Polly, and I made a cycle tour of Northern France and Southern Belgium (Flanders) and I took some photos of his entry on the Menin Gate which I have uploaded to his page on this site. There is also a wonderful new International Memorial, The Ring of Remembrance, at Notre Dame de Lorette just north of Arras. This memorial has the names of the 579,606 men who died in Northern France during the First World War, listed in alphabetical order, regardless of rank and nationality and is a stunning tribute to their sacrifice. I have uploaded photos taken there too.

RE: # 120754484 Elise Diehl Hespeler
Thank you. There is some confusion as to whether Jacob had one or two wives and their names and which is which if there actually were two. The other name floating about is Knoth. Her death record doesn't give her maiden name.

Can you tell me your source for the name Diehl? It isn't on the gravestone.

You show Agnes Millicent Cowan's death date as 1953. This must be a typo as she died in 1913.

Thanks for being one of those great people who contribute so much to our searches.

Dianne Myers

PS: Agnes was one of my grandmother's many Ontario cousins.
