My name is Cecil Bell and I live in Kokomo, Indiana. I started trying to find some of my ancestors grave sites. I have a very large family, and they all came out of the South, they come from, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia. I have been working on my family tree and found this very interesting. If I can be of help to any one I would be happy to do it.|

Reuben Bell was my 3rd great grandfather. Thanks for putting the pictures up of these stones. I am always interested in hearing from Bell relatives.

Hi Cecil, thank you for sharing these photos of this family (Manie & Mamie 'Ellis' Bell), but I was wondering if there is any way I could get a copy (scanned or however) in a larger version of the photograph of Manie & Mamie Bell and 8 of there 13 kids you have posted.
I would really love to see the faces and see if I have may have them in some of my old photographs of unidentified persons.
Mamie Lee is my 2nd cousin 2xR. Her grandfather, Theophilus is a brother to my great grandfather, James Aphonzo Ellis who married Martha Starnes. Their son, Rev. John Allen Ellis is my grandfather and he is buried in Monroe County, TN
Would love to hear from you.
Manie Bell was a first cousin to my grandmother, Rose Stewart Chastain. Would Manie be your grandfather or great grandfather?
|Larry Van Horn||James M. Bell|
The top part of James stone is missing except for the J in his given name, but the dates match those provided by by you. This stone is also next to Elizabeth Russell Bell (1826-1904) tomsbtone so we are confident it is your 2nd great grandfather. There is no trace anywhere in the area of the missing piece of his stone. The burial is in the second Pine Log cemetery burial area on a hill overlooking the church.
Hope this helps fulfills that request.

Please take a look at Find A Grave Memorial #39524665. It may be that of your great-great grandmother. This grave marker is at Pine Log Baptist Church Cemetery in Clay County, NC. (Several of my own relatives are buried there.)
If this Elisabeth Bell is the one you are looking for, James Bell may be buried there, too, although I did not see a Find A Grave memorial for him connected to that cemetery.
I hope this is your Elizabeth. Good luck in your research.
