I love the peace and quiet of cemeteries. (There are no telemarketers calling.) I also love taking pictures. The exercise is at my own pace. The stones are interesting, and they absolutely need to be documented before they are lost to the ravages of time. |
I'm 10 generations forward from my Mayflower ancestor George Soule. I'm 13 generations from my New Haven founder Capt. Nathaniel Turner. 13 Generations is 1024 direct ancestors (doesn't count siblings etc.) My husband also has 1024 direct ancestors going back to the Mayflower. That's 2048 direct ancestors. I haven't found them all in the 40+ years I've been researching. But I'm still looking. Thanks to all of you members at Find a Grave, who are making finding their burial places easier.
PLEASE use the EDIT tab for suggestions, corrections and transfers. I'm happy to make changes, but I'm going to ask you for a source, if it's not directly on the stone. (Using the new edit system you can send source information through the "Suggest any other correction or addition" line.) The internet is a wonderful thing for genealogists but it's also very good at spreading misinformation, and I am trying very hard not to spread undocumented genealogy. That's one of the reasons I love Find a Grave, because I can look directly at a gravestone and see exactly what it says and don't have to depend on second and third hand information. Happy hunting.
PHOTOS OF GRAVESTONES. Please feel free to use mine, that's why I took them. I do like to get credit, though. "ASB"
PHOTOS OF PEOPLE. I've posted them to be enjoyed by visitors to Find a Grave. I was a little taken aback to see my mother's photo on Ancestry. So you're welcome to use them, for your personal use, but I would appreciate it, if you would avoid posting them to other internet sites.

I would like to take over my dads memorial. Thank you. I could also take over that whole grave site which includes my grandparents and uncle as well if that is something you would be willing to do.
You found and photographed the gravestone for Daniel Cady, who died in 1736! Amazing! Who would having imagined that grave stone would still be there? Thank you so much.

Oh it was her death record with that date. I sent you the source to her memorial edit but I would leave birth a Nov 11.

No 11th is correct and what I meant. Sometimes when I enter a date I get next day by accident guess that happened. Sorry about that and thanks for checking.

Thank you for taking the time to photograph the Lillian V (Foss)and Friend M Cramer gravestone, because without it I would not have been able to find out what happened to them.

Sorry, I just wanted him linked to his wife. I don't have all the information yet on his family.
|Dave Robison||George and Lillian Hall|
Hello! I've just submitted a few edits, mostly to ask to link George and Lillian then Lillian to her parents, Edward Harmon Bassett and Emma Eleanor Tuggey, my maternal great grandparents. If this is not sufficient, please let me know.
I've also been a contributor since December 2000 but I've not had the time to do much more than my own family.

Thank you so much for taking and posting this photograph. I never knew where "Grandmother" Melita was buried, or even if she died in Southbridge or Woodstock. Many thanks for your kindness in sharing. Suzanne
