I am happy to transfer memorials-just ask. |
I welcome corrections, updates, links, and additional information on my memorials. Findagrave is a joy when people work together in the spirit of collaboration.
If a fellow contributor takes the time and trouble to send links and updates, please accept them in good faith. Findagrave does not require us to provide documentation at all, let alone several sources.
Thank you to everyone who has cheerfully added the information and links I've asked for, and a pox on those who won't. And thanks to the photographers who go out in the cold and heat to get photographs of stones for us all. Findagrave couldn't exist without the 'boots on the ground' folks.
The lines I look for are Worsham and Moody on my mother's side, O'Quinn, Summers, Rentz and Kinard on my father's side.
I have added a few grave photos. They aren't the best; please let me know if you have a better photo to post.
Our coin will rust, ourselves be dust,
A hundred years from now.

|Bill Foster (W.L.Foster )||My Cousin Lewis Brent Hill|
This for contacting me about his memorial. My mother before she past was keeping the records of our Braswell and related familes Cousin. I made the memorial from her records . His mother " Vic Maude" Braswell -Hill was my mother's first cousin on the Braswell Family tree. I keep a joint family tree by the way on line at Ancestry . Com including my In Laws Rice , Franklins , Shelton , Wallins , Tweeds etc. Did you know the results of the lastest DNA test on a Madison County Franklin hints the Franklins and Sheltons all are related back to Roderick Shelton Sr.
|Diane Gravlee||RE: Mausoleum vs cemetery|
Mausoleums are part of the cemetery's acreage. They are usually a building with vaults either on the outside of the building or on the inside. Either way, the name and dates are inscribed on the front of the vault for that person. Sometimes these are hard to photograph because of the metal or marble used on the front and they are shiny and reflect. If they are on the inside, it is easier. I will see what I can find for you. Diane

I just looked at Francis' memorial and I see that the obituary you posted states he was buried in the Memorial Mausoleum. That will help a lot. Perhaps you didn't realize that the obituary told you where they were buried. Diane

I'll see about contacting David for you.
|Diane Gravlee||RE: Van Benthuysen|
Anna, why don't you call David Jennings at the Baptist Church at 864-229-5558. He is in charge of the cemetery and explain that I sent him these names and he couldn't find them and offer him another spelling or any other thoughts. Maybe he can find it after all. Then you can send me the location.

Thanks for your photo of her gravestone at Trinity in Columbia, SC, as well as adding her husband and parents. Best wishes.
I think I found her stone, but I'm not 100% sure. I can make out Tillinghast on it and it is in the Tillinghast family plot. The memorial indicated the date of death as 1975, so I initially ruled it out. However, I think it was a typo and is really 1875. I have sent an edit request.
I will post the photo later after trying to clean it up.
This is a beautiful cemetery!

Well, that was easy to find. Her grave is literally the first one in the cemetery!

Thanks Anna! I'm feeling so much better that's its kind of scary sometimes! :) It took me long enough. Hope all is well with you and thanks for all you have done and continue to do for Find A Grave! ~Laurie~
