Bio Photo IMPORTANT NOTICE: Over the years I have left hundreds of memorial notes on Confederate veteran's FindAGrave memorial pages, using the Confederate Flag as a symbol. Recently I discovered the flag had been replaced with flowers. If you see one of my memorial messages left on a memorial page with flowers instead of the flag, please notify me so that I can make the appropriate changes.

Sons of Confederate Veterans Compatriot - Camp No. 1921 - The Tallassee Armory Guards.

Please feel free to use/share photographs and other historical information I've posted to memorials.

The Chattahoochee Valley Historical Society has endorsed FindAGrave and as a member of that society I have visited many cemeteries and added graves/memorials on its behalf.

I manage several hundred memorials in Chambers County, AL that Hank Rogers transferred over to me before he became inactive with F.A.G.

Also, most of the very old newspaper items on my memorials are through the courtesy of F.A.G. Member #47182102 who has painstakingly transcribed volumes of "The LaFayette Sun", the official newspaper of Chambers County, Alabama.

RE: Memorial Transfers
Thank you! Yes, I appreciate the research you have done on these. We are hoping only to add stuff (primarily photos) and not take away what is there. Many thanks!

RE: P.A. Simonton
I hadn't noticed that. I did a little research and could find no record of Phillip Andrew serving but did find that a Thomas Simonton (Phillip Andrew's father's name) was on the Walton County Georgia muster roll. I can't imagine why a man from Chambers County Alabama would have been there but it could have happened. Phillip Andrew might have been very proud of his father's medal so wore it for his picture. If you find out anything about Thomas' service, I'd like to know.

RE: Jeptha Seaborn Sutton
Thank you for the info. I was hoping that this was new. I took this exact pic back in 2011 when I discovered these covered up graves with the help of a neighbor. As far as I know they had not been seen for at least 200 years. We investigated this area for at least 3 hours to no avail but when we were leaving the neighbor stumped his toe on one of the edges of a grave. It took us hours to uncover the 2 graves (which just happened to be my 3rd Great grandfather's and his son's)and the stone to which to this date I have no idea the writing. Of all the graves that were buried there we just happened to find those two which I of course know was a higher power. I was hoping that someone else had been there and discovered the remaining 30 some odd graves or decifered what the other stone we found said?
Thank you
Pat
