"We were talking about what it was like to spend one's childhood in little towns like these, buried in wheat and corn, under stimulating extremes of climate: burning summers when the world lies green and billowy beneath a brilliant sky, when one is fairly stifled in vegetation, in the color and smell of strong weeds and heavy harvests; blustery winters with little snow, when the whole country is stripped bare and gray as sheet-iron. We agreed that no one who had not grown up in a little prairie town could know anything about it."|
-- Willa Cather from 'My Antonia'

Glad to have her in family hands. I'll be happy to transfer others, even distant, family.

You're welcome. My parents are at that cemetery, so I visit frequently. Chris

John, I will look up the record when I get home from work. I have a couple of books written about Yuma County cemeteries, one specifically on the Yuma Cemetery, and they have helped me out numerous times. Both books were published in the 1990's but there are other resources to help us too. The Yuma Museum is a good one. Richard

I will go the Yuma Museum this weekend and look up the obituary. I could check with the local mortuary and try to find out in which grave, within New Addition 104, Ludwig is buried.

jcs10der, Ludwig is the only Stender buried in the Yuma Cemetery. Unfortunately he has no marker. If you would like, I can look at the Yuma Museum for his obit.
