A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!|
NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis (Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG)

Published in the Quarterly magazines of the Southern Genealogical Exchange and Amelia Island Genealogical Society articles on my family and various others of North FL lines.

To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.
Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

You too. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

If you look at the memorial numbers, you will see that mine was created first. Mine is an earlier number. Mine: Record added: Jun 20, 2014
Find A Grave Memorial# 131611678
The duplicate: Record added: Jun 20, 2014
Find A Grave Memorial# 131622113
I have sent a message to the contributor asking her to remove her duplicate.

Please merge the memorials.
The cemetery was duplicated many times and another duplication of the cemetery has started again. The White Cemetery or White Chapel Cemetery is in Muskogee County. There were listings for the White Cemetery and White Chapel Cemetery in Sequoyah County and also in Muskogee County. The cemeteries were merged so there were many duplicate memorials.

I am related to about 3/4 of the people
in the Dunkard cemetery.
And I wish people would stay out of it,
I don't know how so many dup. got there.
When I put mine in they were not.

|cowfordlady||Need memorial for bio in flowers|
Hi, Linda! I appreciate you taking time to write and tell me about bio info in virtual flowers, but you forgot to tell me which memorial you visited that prompted your message to me on July 24.
Please let me know which memorial so that I can contact the manager.
BTW, I'm aware of the Find A Grave guidelines for virtual flowers, but it just says bio info "should not be included", which I must've misinterpreted. I shouldn't smoke, but I do. :)

It's a done deal. Raymond Colby is transferred to you. Thank you. Fay c

Hi: I would like to transfer Raymond Colby to you since you know the information that needs to be changed or corrected. I am not related, just doing some volunteer F.a.G work.if you agree, go ahead and use the edit tab . I'll be happy to transfer. Thanks, Fay C

Yes, I knew about that. I like the new system, but it seems a lot of folks still haven't heard about it.
One of my problems was with managers who refused to add new information, esp. regarding veterans or military graves. Something as simple as refusing to allow their military rank to be entered. I guess I have the option of asking Find A Grave to add it then, after 30 days. Thank you.
