Bio and Links
Bio Photo Feel free to use my photos and biographical comments to enhance your genealogical projects. Crediting me as a source is a nice touch but not necessary.

Find-A-Grave is a wonderful site and it keeps getting better, aside from a few cranky old individuals who rigidly adhere to their notions of right and wrong. It has evolved from a simple registry into a valuable genealogical resource. The links are especially helpful in following families and the biographical notes and photos are often invaluable resources. I give a hearty "thank you" to all who contribute.

I'm a native of Colorado, growing-up in the suburbs west of Denver (Lakewood, Golden), but I've lived in San Francisco, California for many years. I enjoy creating memorials and photographing stones, especially for veterans, being a Vietnam veteran myself.

I've spent countless tranquil hours at San Francisco National Cemetery and Golden Gate National Cemetery (both very close to my home), thinking about all those poor old veterans who gave their all, and a trip to Crown Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Colorado is always a treat. All 4 of my grandparents and 6 of my 8 great-grandparents are buried there, providing lots of pleasant nostalgia.

Donald Lee Fisher
Good afternoon,

Sorry to trouble you again, but I found the application for a flat bronze grave marker for the son of Royal Franklin Fisher and his wife, Wynona T. (Pellman) Fisher stated it was for burial at Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, CO. I do not find a listing in Crown Hill for him and have not found another cemetery which lists Donald Lee Fisher. According to the grave application, his wife applied for a birth date of 21 Jul 1907 and this was corrected to 21 Jun 1907 by the processor for the marker. date of death is listed as 12 Feb 1962. I also do not find a burial for Wynona, so i am wondering if they were cremated and she simply had his plaque sent to the cemetery for display purposes (if so, where would this be, like side of a building, memorial walk, etc.) or if there are interments not listed for this cemetery?

Thank you for any information,
Steven Snider (#47228634)

Thank you for your kind words. I am happy to have helped.

For additional information on George Woodburne McGregor, he also graduated from West Point, in 1927. Like his brother, he dropped Shillock immediately after graduation.

Tony Hervatin
Dear Richard,

I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, Tony Hervatin was a member of this unit. His gravestone confirms this.

I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with my project, but want to eventually publish something. Would it be permissible to use your photograph of the grave of Tony Hervatin (Find A Grave Memorial# 124122753) should I eventually publish something?

Thank you,

With warm regards,

Bryan Anderson
