I Would like to get in touch with any of these families.

And yes I'm also into the Long Coat Chihuahuas I love working on there pedigrees and figuring out whom I'm going to breed to whom off the pedigrees and I have some beautiful dogs...

Also about Transfers......
If they are part of your family I will Transfer...usually in each of our families there are only a couple of people who are interested in this.

I have had family members transferred to me and have worked to add family information to all of them including photos. Be assured that I would never ask to have a memorial transferred to my membership for the sake of numbers. That is not my goal, AT ALL. I have numerous Virtual Cemeteries that are set up to hold members of the various direct lines/branches of my "Hair" family tree.
I do hope that some day these family branches will get in touch with me.

Two men were walking home after a party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs. Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows. Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones.
"Holy cow, Mister," one of them said after catching his breath, "You scared us half to death -- we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?"
"Those fools!" the old man grumbled. "They misspelled my name!"

Shipes and Hair
Just quickly...my husband's great-grandparents include Maggie Lou Shipes 1883-1952 who married Allen Edward Hair 1878-1944 and lived in Barnwell County, S.C. I haven't done much on the Shipes yet but my earliest Hair research is Samuel Hair born 1855 or so who married Jay Cynthia Keel in South Carolina. Their children were Allen, Carrie and Robert. (Allen mentioned above). I need to do more work on them. If my husband doesn't help me, I just go back to my own family for a few months. haha :)

Hairs in South Carolina
HI Nadine,
Thanks for your message. My mother-in-law's grandmother was a Hair from South Carolina. Her mother moved to Augusta at some point. It is interesting that you mention the Newmans because my father-in-law is descended from Newmans in the Richmond County area. My son is sick with the flu but next week, I will be able to look into my info more and will get back with you. Do you have an ancestry.com account? I have a Hair tree on there but haven't put a lot of info yet. I think I have 1800s stuff though.

Files Valley Cemetery
This relates to the status of the cemetery in Files Valley, TX. In the 1970s, a board was established to oversee maintenance of the cemetery. All of the board members are now deceased. In order to insure some level of maintenance going forward, a new board should be established. A meeting seems necessary to reestablish the board and the first group to make contact with, before going to the general population of the community, in my opinion, should be those FindAGrave Contributors who have shown an interest and demonstrated some effort to preserve the memory of those interred there. If you have experience in managing small cemeteries and/or the interest to participate in this process, please contact me via email at bmcever@sbcglobal.net.

Regards and thanks for all your work for FindAGrave.

RE: Key Cem Elbert Co Ga.
I didn't remove any memorials from the Key Family Cemetery. Either the Admins or the contributor herself took her account and all of her memorials off line.

You say yourself that "there were about 17 unmaked [sic} graves" there. If you have proof about who is buried there, great. Meanwhile, two different people have told me that there are only two identifiable grave markers in the cemetery which is what it says on the cemetery page.

Nellis family
I was recently in Monowi Nebraska searching my family line and took a lot of pictures in the Alford Cemetery. I just added pictures of the stones for 4 of the Nellis family.
