Hi all! Thanks for all the work you do for genealogists around the world.
Guess it wouldn't hurt to say I'm a low-twenty-something Watauga girl with mountain roots, and I love the cemeteries around my part of the world. I see a lot of them falling to the wayside and that's such a shame. I'm trying to do my part to help with the upkeep, physically and on Find a Grave. As the old saying goes, "The character of a community is revealed in the way it honours its loved ones." Let me say I submit my photos-- all of them-- to the Internet at large, just please don't put them on subscription based sites UNLESS you are a direct ancestor (and then they're yours even more so than they could ever be mine). Let me know if you find errors in my transcriptions or biographies or if you want a memorial transferred over to you.

From being local I think you have his memorial in the wrong cemetery. There is an old Mount Paron Cemetery on the hill behind the new one. I don't think this cemetery came into being in this old (1940).
''Doc'' Watson's grandparents were Tom Watson & Elizabeth Triplett. I think Elizabeth was with Laura Foster when she was passing.
Thank you for all you do.Added by K on Apr 06, 2013 10:23 PM | | | tonya e

 | RE: Presnell Family Cemetery Hi
There are 5 unreadable markers that I could find at the Presnell Family Cemetery on Beach Mountain. The cemetery is along St. Andrews road. It is a small fenced in area at the edge of the road. There is one gate to enter the cemetery and a parking area right next to it. You don't have to physically be on the golf course to get to the cemetery.
