To remember the markings of life is to remember the contributions of those who have gone before. Grave markers are history books, in short.

I have always been facinated by graveyards and find solace and comfort among others who feel as passionately about history, and those who made it.

RE: 154291360 Alex Miller
Hi Connie,
Thanks for your interest in taking over management of the memorial site for Alex on Find A Grave. I know you and Alex were very close and your memories at Alex's funeral were very warm and heartfelt. My wife, Connie (nee Bavelas) is Dalene's cousin and I have been active in keeping the extended Bavelas family's records up to date on find a Grave. I would be happy to consider any requests for additions to Alex's site that you might want to include. I asked Andy Bavelas to see if Sheena would let us have digital copies of the great photos she put together in the memory book. If you have any that you want to add, I think you can do so, even without going through me. The only thing I think I have in error is Alex's birth place, which my mother in law told me was Alaska. But, based on recent info, it looks like it might be Washington. After I get that verified, I'll edit it.
I hope you understand my position but would be willing to work with you on any information you might want to include.

Sonny & Amy Ricks
I have uploaded your photo requests. It appears that the marker has not been changed to indicate Sonny's passing in 2011. If you click on the photo you will find I have listed their burial inforamtion. Sonny is in space 3 and Amy in space 4.

Hi Connie,

I spoke with my sister and she is fine with my transfering Jon's memorial to you. I noticed that you posted a duplicate memorial. Would you please remove the duplication, then I'll be happy to transfer Jon to you :)

Hi Connie,

I don't mean to keep you waiting, but as I mentioned I want to make sure that my sister does not want to maintain Jon's memorial as they were such dear friends. I haven't had a chance to call sis yet as my son and daughter-in-law just had a new baby (my first grandchild) and things have been a bit crazy. I will try and get hold of sis this weekend so that I can transfer to you if she is ok with that.

Take care,

RE: Jon Anast
Hi Connie,

Sis emailed me last night about Jon's death. Before I transfer his memorial, I want to see is Sis want's to maintain it, as she and Jon were very close friends for the last 30 plus years. If she doen't then I'll be happy to transfer him to you :)

I was so sad to hear of his death. He (and Janeal) lived just around the corner from me when I was first married (early 1980's). And they were often at Joane's gatherings. I remember him insisting that I try caviar at my sister's wedding to Gary. Before I could say no, he put it in my mouth...let's just say, turns out caviar is NOT something I like :)

Ahhh, that clears it up then. I entered mine when I read his obit in the local paper. Where he is buried is only a few miles from here. I try to stay on top of the obits that are local. I live in Kanab UT (at the very bottom of the state on the UT/AZ border). I can see where it would be confusing. I've done this many times, entered one only to find out it was a duplicate and had to delete it after all my work to enter it. I will go ahead and delete my memorial. When it gets just a little warmer I will make a trip out to the Moccasin Cemetery and get a better photo of the headstone.. maybe the new one will be there by then. I have family (daughter, grandson & great grandkids) in SLC and will be coming up there next month. Have a great day. Jan
