Find A Grave has added a new editing function to all members. Check the 'Edit' tab on your profile page for pending edit requests for your memorials.

Most edit requests are no longer sent from Find A Grave with an email notice to the memorial creator/current manager. You have to go to your profile page and check the Edit tab to see the requests for additions or changes to your memorials.

Please check your profile page so that the requested edits can be processed. Find A Grave has made this change to facilitate rapid handling of multiple edit requests.

A Texan's family tree is like a beautiful rose with many fragrant petals, but with any rose, you have thorny branches that needs pruning on occasion....the same goes with families.
Beatitudes of the Family Genealogists:

Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, For they tell the story of their time. Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, For this provides proof. Blessed are the grandmothers who preserved family Bibles and diaries, For this our heritage. Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer letters of inquiry, For some, this is their only link to the past. Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, For one of her children will surely remember. Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, For them who owe the family history. Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, For theirs is a labour of love. Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."written by Unknown;

John T Burrow
Hi Nancy!

You posted this message to my board some time ago (I'm sorry but I've been gone for quite some time due to technical issues or I would have responded sooner):

In need of some help
I have in my tree a John T. Burrow that lived in Bowie Co., Texas. In the information I have his grandmother being a Formby or Fomby. I cant make out any of the names on it and have not found another copy. do you know if your John might be the one I am in search of? Thanks so much for any help.
Nancy Adams

I'm sorry but I can be no help on the matter. I have no clue about John or his relatives at this time. I have lost my GEDCOM records on this computer and my backup info on my external harddrive is lost as well due to being damaged in a move. I don't know if I can recover the files in the future or where I put the thumbdrive that was an additional backup; but once I find my information I might be able to see if there's anything in my GEDCOM info that might help. I think if there was that I would have already put it on the memorial though. Do you have link a link for the grandmother you mentioned? I can put her in my "might be related" section in order to help me keep up with the info and check later once I get my files back in order.

RE: Raleigh George Barker married to Inez Formby
You are correct the spelling of the last name is Barker. That was my mistake many years ago when I did not have the information I have now. It was me who sent you the corrected spelling of the last name yesterday.

RE: Fread Goolsby in Georgia
The Goolsby that I am related to I only follow from the 1800 back. I do not have any thing on the 1900. I did visit the Isaiah Goolsby Plantation Cemetery last week and if you find you to back there I have LOT of pictures. Check with Georgia Girl She is really up on a lot of the more resent Goolsby.
Sorry I can't help.

Leona Baber
I also found her DC. She died March 14, 1936 in Wood County. I assume she is buried in Lee Cemetery with her other family. Is there any way to check? I am not in the Texas area so have no way to do so. If you do find it, would you let me know. The Baber Family are cousins. I descend from Sarah Hudlow's sister Martha who married Asaph Hill.

RE: Robert Stacy
You are more than welcome to use any of my photos. I also have a not so good photo of Chet and Martha if you do not have one. It is blurry but you can still see the high cheek bones of the Stacy clan. It seems like all my grandma's had the same look. I remember my grandmother Smither the best but they all seem to resemble each other. Must be the hair, parted in the middle, drawn back in a bun. They didn't have "perms' back then for 'salt of the earth" farm women. I already receive your emails and enjoy reading about this branch of my family. I owe you some updated info but have to wait until after Easter. Too many great grandchildren to sent boxes of "Easter" too right now. Also, this spring our tribe increases by 5 new great grandchildren (one set of twins!) so I am busy crocheting sweaters, blankets and booties for all.
