I'm a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, being a direct descendant of a Confederate soldier. My great-great-grandfather, John Tyler Jacobs, VMI class of 1862, served as a Lieutenant of Infantry in the Missouri State Guard, then as a Captain in Brigadier General M. Jeff Thompson's Command.
His great grandfather, John Jacobs, was a Captain in the Amherst County Virginia militia and later served three years in the Continental Army in the 2nd Virginia Cavalry during the American Revolution. My 6th-great-grandfather Pvt. William Combs was mortally wounded at the Battle of Brandywine, Sept 11, 1777.
My 4th cousin, 5-times removed is Meriwether Lewis.
I'm also very proud of my heritage, which is entirely from the British Isles, namely Scotland. Some of the surnames in my lineage include Crawford, Elliott, McDaniel, Campbell, Rose, and Wallace.
My 1st cousin, 22-times removed, is Sir William Wallace.
I am an avid flag historian, known as a vexillologist, and a flag collector. I owned and operated "Flags of Yore" Flag Company for several years. We did some work for the movie "Master and Commander" with Russell Crowe, and made all the flags for "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise.

You are very welcome. Thanks for commenting. Always nice to "know" why I do this. :-) If you have any others that might be buried there, be sure to keep checking back. I have thousands more to add. I should have another big batch submitted tomorrow, but it usually takes them a day or two to get them loaded. However, sometimes it is same day. Yes, my young children and I took about 2000 pictures just on Saturday. :-) Which picture are you asking about when you asked "Did you take pictures"? I posted your Ney Jacobs photo request already. I actually had that one from a previous trip, but didn't realize it was who you were looking for as you had it under a different name. I'm in the process of trying to get them all entered and then I'll go back and post pictures.
