Dear Fellow Researchers:|
You may use any of the information I have added to Find-A-Grave, including photographs. You may use them in your family tree records or you may add them to Ancestry.com, etc. There is no need to ask for permission as I am delighted that you found it valuable to your research.
Corrections and suggestions are verified but rejoiced over.
You are encouraged to request transfers from me, especially if you have more information to add to the memorial. The only exception is if the person memorialized is in my family tree, or was a close friend of mine.
The easiest way to facilitate a transfer is to use the edit tab on the memorial ("Suggest any other correction or addition") to make your request. Donít forget to provide your Find-A-Grave member number. Please be considerate as transfer requests will probably just fall through the cracks unless you provide your member number. (Your member number is at the top of your profile page.)
Due to time factors it might take awhile, but requests (especially from people who provide their numbers for quick and easy transfers) will be carefully considered. You will receive a response.
Find-A-Grave has been extremely helpful to me. I hope my contributions will be just as beneficial to anyone searching for more information about their family.
If you have a moment, please stop by and leave virtual flowers for my great-grand-uncle Gib Smith. His story is part of the reason I volunteer for this site. Thanks, Jan

Thank you very much for taking the time to get this photo for me! I have over a thousand photos of family members, close and distant relatives, and I rely heavily on Find-a-grave when I cannot personally go to the cemetery.

Jan, I did not expect you to transfer Jean to me when I ask that you add her family. I know that you were both good friends for many years. Thank you thought for letting me take care of her memorial.

Bless your MIL... I love visiting with my Senior family members... LOL... I'm one of them😋. I have 'gleaned' so much family history from them... Most of them are gone now... So happy I took the time to get to know them... I have my great aunt's diary... I love the 'stories' of how the whole family pitched in, even though married and away from home, enjoyed doing everything together..... 'plant gardens', 'build barns', 'can the crops', 'cut the hay'.... Those were the good old days 😋
What we see 'now-a-days' is everyone plugged into their iPhone, headphone, and so it goes... No real communication😇.
Thank you so much for all the information... 😋

We will be trying to search every inch of the place anyway, just to make sure we find them all. So far, we have discovered at least two that were not included in the WPA Survey in 1939. The more we find, the better the rows are defined, which in turn makes it easier to locate the others.
I was mainly working on the Hawk families, since they are all in one row, near the center of the cemetery. One of the other ladies found Joseph's grave, and she took a photo from an oblique angle, which may show more details. She had corresponded with me in 2013 concerning the cemetery; she is related to Joseph McDonald (her name is Nancy DeBoie).
In my earlier message I was confused, thinking that you were her (because of the McDonald connection), hence the comment about you posting your own photo -- which I'm sure didn't make any sense to you. Sorry 'bout that!

After the fact, I found the memorial you made for LeVelle's daughter... 😞

Yes, it makes perfect sense and I do understand the connection😇. I was able to visit with Mildred several times before she passed... Her son, my cousin, took care of her during that time in her home😇. It was, Harry, Mildred's husband who gave information & pictures to Lois Barton to help write "Sunny side of the mountain, Spencer Butte"... Mildred had a sister, Lavelle I believe her name was.... Her daughter married Dobson who was a childhood friend to my brother .... 😋

We had a workday at the cemetery today, with about 7 volunteers pawing through the brush, etc. Little Joseph is off by himself on the eastern end of the cemetery -- at least we have not discovered any others near him.
The periwinkle is very pervasive (and invasive), so it makes the search very difficult. Christie Meacham is spearheading the effort to restore the cemetery; she is a descendant of several of the families represented there. We will try to get more photos posted as they become available.

Your work on Findagrave is impressive and appreciated.
Some time ago I found a memorial that you made for Ralph Garren. I had requested a photo and did a search using the memorial number I had, but it came up as missing. Then I did a search using his name and death info and found a new memorial for him (#145641850) made just a year ago.
I hope you are all right about that.
Thanks for all you do.
