Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an amateur genealogist, living in Dublin, Ireland.

I am particularly interested in the Pigott and Edgeworth families of Ireland and their descendants.
The graves of Irishmen who fought in WW1 & WW2 are also of interest.

they will not follow you,

Cowley Family and RHMS
Hi John - am researching the above family and found your info on Thomas Webster Cowley tombstone in the RHMS cemetery

I was wondering if you had come across this name elsewhere in connection with the RHMS - I know that his father & grandfather were enlisted in the 14th Foot and that his father Thomas Cowley born circa 1822 was a Drum Major at the RHMS, discharged from army 1861 but cannot find him or family from then onwards -except the above

thanks for any help you can give

Private Joe Flynn
I stand corrected again John- his date of birth is March 16th 1897- and he wasn't baptised in Emo as previously stated, he was baptised in St Michaels Church, Portarlington

Private Joe Flynn, Emo, Laois
hi John, am private Joes grandniece and have uploaded photos on his grave.
My grandfather Patrick, his brother, was residing in Wexford town as a lodger and working as a ganger in the GSR. He was 23.
John another brother, had joined the LIfe Guards in 1908 so was in UK by 1911.
Can't find Mick or Joe in 1911 census.
Apparently they had 2 older sisters Margaret and Mary that we can't find in any census..
There is a memorial service for Private Joe in Emo ChUrch on Aug 8th this year and 53 of his grand nieces and nephews are going to be in attendance from as far as Canada, UK and rest of Ireland.

RE: Reuben Harrison Howell
You are very welcome. It was my pleasure to visit that amazing cemetery that was so well maintained. It was a surprise to see over 11,000 markers of Commonwealth graves. The CWGC has done a terrific job.
Thank you for your efforts to remember the Veterans.
