I am happy to transfer memorials-just ask. |
I welcome corrections, updates, links, and additional information on my memorials. Findagrave is a joy when people work together in the spirit of collaboration.
If a fellow contributor takes the time and trouble to send links and updates, please accept them in good faith. Findagrave does not require us to provide documentation at all, let alone several sources.
Thank you to everyone who has cheerfully added the information and links I've asked for, and a pox on those who won't. And thanks to the photographers who go out in the cold and heat to get photographs of stones for us all. Findagrave couldn't exist without the 'boots on the ground' folks.
Thank you to my Findagrave friends who help me with locating burials and stitching my pieces. Without you I'd have a much harder time, make a lot more mistakes, and not have nearly as much fun.
The lines I look for are Worsham and Moody on my mother's side, O'Quinn, Summers, Rentz and Kinard on my father's side.
If you have time, please visit the memorial of a great lady, my friend Winona Rhodes

|Peka||RE: Just checking in|
I've been really swamped. I have a 10 month old Kuvasz. So far he weighs about 90 lbs. (his father was 120 lbs.). I have an electric fence, but there's a woman who comes on Sundays to visit her father. She brings her dog. My dog, Gizmo, doesn't like this dog. They live right across the street and when she walks this dog Gizmo gets crazy. He's broken the fence a couple of times. I've had a broken foot and my foot has been in a boot for 8 weeks so I've been hobbling out to intercept. So, we decided to fence in the back yard. But our next project was supposed to be to repave the driveway. So we did it all: got the property resurveyed, got three really big trees removed (their roots destroyed my driveway), fenced in the backyard, and had the driveway repaved. In the meantime, my recently installed flooring has shown itself to be defective. It covers maybe half the square footage of my home (bedrooms carpet, bathrooms tile, and the rest this vinyl that looks like wood). I choose this because it's waterproof and I have 4 cats inside (2 Maine Coon cats, a Ragdoll, and a mixed breed). Anyway, the flooring people are going to replace it free of charge. We had to pick another type form another manufacturer. It is really a mess and inconvenience to have this done. Plus, they'll have to move my pool table and so I'll have to have it re-leveled again.
My mom with her COPD can't understand that when she leaves her bedroom not to close the door on her airline. When she does do this, she doesn't understand how to fix it. So, she get stuck standing there and her back starts hurting her, etc. I have to be here all of the time except when Hospice people are here. I do pay a lady to sit with Mom on Mondays so that my wife and I can get out and do something (that's her day off).
We had a contract with a gold company to buy her property once they finished getting the mining rights. Now, after 2 years, it turns out they're not going to buy her property (or anyone else's in the Kershaw area). So I had to put her home on the market. Had to hire some people to help us get things cleaned out. It's 101 acres, 2 ponds, and a small home (about 1700 sq.ft.).
I've worked some on the Kershaw Cemetery, but not a lot. I don't feel pressured to do it. I have so many memorials that I get so many edits every day that I feel like I make a lot of progress just doing the edits. Also, I love fulfilling photo requests. I have photos of the majority of my memorials, but not all of the pictures are that great--especially in Lancaster Memorial Park (the geese soil the graves and I can't bend over a lot to clean graves before I take pictures). Anyway, I'm not a numbers person as a lot of people on here talk about except the number of volunteer photos I take. That's what got me really started on here. I found the site and requested photos of family graves in Oregon and Florida. I got them in short order and I was hooked. I thought it was so great that I could actually see the graves. I actually broke my foot in a cemetery. I had a lady sit with Mom so I could go out graving for the first time in forever. I didn't do anything that I know of, but my foot simply became numb. When I got home the feeling had come back, and I couldn't walk on it.
I know you didn't really want all of this information, but I guess sometimes it's therapy for me. I'm having surgery Wednesday on my left eyelid (blepharoplasty). I had it done 3 months ago to both eyelids but they're not even.
So, I'm still around. I know you sent me some stuff, and I will get around to it. Send me as much as you like. I'll get it done. How are things with you?

All done for the reordering of photo slots for Frederick Link. Thanks for letting me know about the adjustment. Have a great weekend.

Anna, I cleaned up the photo. If you want to order another one that's fine with me. At least now it's readable.

|Bren||RE: Chandler edits|
They are a few generations away so I don't have pictures, perhaps others that come across the site will share. I'll keep this and if anything shows up thru Ancestry, those I think I can send out even if they don't belong to me.
I'll have to go see what you fixed and thank you.

Joe Sims, Harold's brother, sent that picture to me in about 1996. Joe and Harold were my grandmother's second cousins. They were my grandfather's half third cousins on the Poole line. I am glad that you posted pictures of Harold and Jerilee.
Are you in contact with any of the descendants of Harold and Jerilee? Their descendants could join Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution and Children of the American Revolution.

Thanks Anna, I'm grateful. Yes I'll eventually get those photos (all good, as you said) to the correct memorials. Oh and I removed the paragraph breaks (although I agree with your thinking) because it's the guidelines. Rich.

Anna, I would appreciate the ownership of this memorial. He is my great uncle.

|Robert Barbi||Butler Acker in Shady Grove Cemetery|
Hello, I looked all over Shady Grove cemetery today and did not find Butler Acker. That doesn't mean he's not there - there are many Acker names there. Unfortunately there has also been a lot of vandalism and some stones in the main Acker area are face down or totally broken. I've left your request on there because someone else may be able to find him. I'm sorry I couldn't help.
|wejjr||M W Mobley Durham|
Adjusted photos. She was my 2nd great grand aunt. I looked at Mobley in your Civil war virt cemetery, & seems all three are related. FYI, Mrs Durham's brother (Edward Mobley) was in the CSA, see Find A Grave #93199580.
