I have been actively pursuing my passion for genealogy since 1997. As I child my parents would diligently pour over records in libraries and courthouses during family vacations to Florida (so boring as a child). Thankfully I've come to respect their interest and value their findings. |
Maternal side: (Iowa and midwest to New England) Hetherington, Scott, Joy, Edwards, Scohy, Hendrix, Jackson, Barrett, Nelson, Clark, Dickinson, Fish, Townsend and so so many more way beyond colonial times and Europe.
Paternal side: (Georgia and southern states) Pearson, Guthrie, Register, Breeden, Head, Catchings, Roby, Register, Dees, Sirmans, Newbern, Rainey, Hill and so so many more.
Found a pirate, some "witches", hard working land owners, royalty, and miners. Oh what stories our ancestors could tell us... When we die we become "stories" in the minds of other people. I believe it's our responsibility to document our heritage because once it's forgotten it's gone.

Thank you for your edits for Henry Banon. Are you related or a friend of the Banon family? I am happy to transfer memorials to someone close to the deceased.

Hello, the above listed person, you have listed as the daughter of Henry and Maggie Stitziel, Henry and Maggie are brother and sister and were killed in a house fire on 02/04/1895 in Scheffield, Jackson County, Missouri, now known as Kansas City, Missouri. Henry was born in 1892, in Scheffield, and Maggie was born 07/1890 in Scheffield. Their parents are: George Henry Stitziel, born 07/05/1865 and he died 03/04/1953 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, and his wife, my great-great Aunt, Olive Louise Montavy, she was born 08/14/1873 in Allen County, Indiana and she died 07/07/1921 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. Both parents are buried in Mount Washington Cemetery, in Independence, Jackson County, Missouri. I have much more family information, if you would like to have it. Sincerely, Paula Montavy-Mattison.

I appreciate you adding the GPS coordinations to Greg Grider's #32237822 memorial page.It will be useful and easier to locate his grave site, for his friend's and relativie's.If you should ever want to not manage his memorial page I would like take care of it,at least until his family would request it. I'm a long time child-hood friend, and just got the recent pic from his wife.

Thanks for your help in clarifying who Betsey's sons were in the 1880 census. It was very helpful. I checked the census again, and sure enough, you were absolutely right. It is now shown correctly on the memorial.

I saw your photo request for this memorial. Do you know the plot location? This cemetery is very large, and the cemetery office will not give out grave locations to anyone but family.

Thanks for your response! :) Billy was my husband's dad, but I should probably leave his memorial in your hands at this time, because of family issues. Thank you for offering, though!
