Note: Information about Jacob and Mary Stauffer Varnes and some of their descendants has been taken from the following family history:
THE GENEALOGY OF THE JACOB LEIGHTY FAMILY OF FAYETTE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA by Floyd H. Leighty, Sr., Jan. 1980.
Special thanks to Julie Oliver for recording tombstone information at Bethel Christian Church near Anabel, MO, which has been used in some of the memorials.
Records of Ken O'Neal have been invaluable in creating memorials in East Liberty Presbyterian Cemetery in Vanderbilt, PA.
Elizabeth Ellsberry's Cemetery Records of Macon Co., MO, 1963, has been a great help for memorials in Macon Co., MO.
I try to follow the FAG guidelines concerning obituaries.
The question of initials in proper names has recently come up. I am trying to follow the FAG guidelines of using a period after a middle initial: "Concerning punctuation in proper names, always use normal English rules, such as always use a period after a Middle Initial."

You're quite welcome. All of us contributing pieces to the great genealogy puzzle is part of the fun! When can I expect an update to your site reflecting Margaret Magnus's name as a sibling of Elmer and Glen? When that happens, Margaret will appear as a legitimate sibling rather than a **step-child on my site. Part of the problem was caused by the inclusion of Margaret's maiden name taken from the newspaper account of her death. Thanks in advance for your speedy resolution!

OOPS!! I meant to send this to the photographer of the gravestone, but just goofed. Sorry to bother you with this.
JJL Singleton is not a relative of mine, but is the father of a person in the cemetery close to me, and I have had some questions about him. No need to transfer.
Thanks again for all the fine work you do on this site.

|Maryann Cavender||Annie James Tooley|
My grandmother Annie James Tooley was buried with her first husband T. S. James in Oakwood Cemetery in Macon Mo. There is nothing on his memorial that says this. Thank you so much.
